Hello,
I'm in Europe for vacation and trying to figure out which sunscreen to stock up on. I've always thought that Tinosorb was best (a derm told me this 10 years ago!) but Avene doesn't list its PPD. LRP does, and its new melt-in cream is very high (42).
Does anyone know what Avene's PPD is? Specifically the kids version in the orange tube? Should I switch to LRP?
Thanks. |

Unfortunately Avene doesn't list PPD.
The LRP is based on Mexoryls, Tinosorb S and Senna Alata (an antioxidant). I don't use this so can't vouch. (I personally keep a look out for Tinosorb M or avobenzone or zinc oxide.)
I would highly recommend looking into Bioderma. I find Bioderma to give a better protection than the old non-avobenzone Avene. The current Avene is very oily according to those who've tried it.
Bioderma Max Fluide SPF50+ PPD38 or Bioderma Laser/Spot SPF50+ PPD38. |
