I am 32 and have combination skin with very few fine lines. I also get the occasional breakout. I've been doing glycolic peels from platinum skincare.com for years and my skin does well. I also used to use their copper serum, but I ran out and I saw they no longer sold it. So, I searched here and decided to go with Skin Biology's Super CP Serum since I have used the regular strength before I figured I'd do the stronger one. Well I don't know if my skin just hates it or what, but it is not doing well with it. I started very slowly, every 2 days a few drops diluted. Then slowly moved up to everyday. I notice that the few very faint lines I have on my forehead get worse when I use it. And I get more breakouts!! I'm so bummed because I've read such great things about copper serums. Am I doing something wrong? Or does my skin just not like it. Help.
Thanks!! |

I suggest using GHK at most - nothing stronger at your age. You do not need Super CP.
I suggest you talk to the helpful customer service at Skin biology or read the web site. |

Hi lola,
I am not sure what you were using in the past but platinum skin care still has 3 SkinBiology products listed on the site.

You sound like you need to use a milder CP before plunging into the Super CP. That is a strong one and can take the skin a while to get use to it. And, with sensitive skin (acne prone), it might react more.
Try diluting it more for a week or so before getting a different CP. I would dilute in a ratio of 1 drop CP to 7 drops water (for a week or 2) and then move up in strength of 2 drops CP to 6 drops water. Keep changing the ratio for a while until you're at full strength and your skin is use to the CP.
I did it like this with the regular CP serum and never saw any 'uglies'. But, I would try to sneak in a stronger one on blemishes every now and then and could see just that spot get wrinkley. These CPs are strong. |

Thanks ladies! I'm going to try again, diluting it as per your suggestion Foxe. I just hate for this to go to waste. Thanks! |

I can't use super cp serum well either. I would buy a bottle of regular cp serum from dianayvonne.com and mix them in a bottle together about half and half. Super cp serum is 40% stronger then the regular cp serum plus it has salicylic acid in it which may be more of the problem. |

The salicylic acid in the CPs is just to help w/ penetration - nothing else. It will make some of them act stronger, though. The BHA doesnt act like an exfoliator in CPs because the pH is too high. Acids like AHAs and BHAs need a low pH to do their jobs of exfoliating. |

Less is more when it comes to CP's. You started way too strong..and that is why the result. If anything..it shows you the power of cp's .. start with GHK or just cp serum and use it every other day for a while. take weekends off. I do that now. It just takes time for cp's to work..you won't see big changes off the bat. So keep that in mind. Four months from now you'll be seeing a difference. I've been on them since October..and can say I really like cp's..but it has been a slow go, but my face is lifted and much tighter. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

You are correct but the point is that the salicylic acid can be irritating. |
