I was meaning to try SMN's skincare for a long time, and when I was in Italy last week, I went to their store in Rome and picked up a couple of things. The line is VERY pricey and based on 500-year old recipes (can this be good?!?).
I'm trying the "F" cream with rosewater, and the body cream.
If anyone has had any experiences with their products, please let me know.
Also, my friend sprang for their new line of skincare, which, at 100 euros per bottle, is fairly pricy. I noticed the ingredients were silicone-heavy on the new products, but relatively free of ingredients we identify as 'bad' on the older formulations.

I am using the Balsamo Per Capelli conditioner for hair and it is absolute heaven. The best conditioner I have ever used. I am also using the Camomile shower gel which I like. These products are heavily perfumed and the scent does linger, especially the conditioner, but it is a pleasant scent. In the US you can buy the products atwww.lafco.com |

I went to their store in Florence, it felt like I was shopping in an ancient museum!
I purchased the foot cream and body soap.
I was not impressed with the soap - but the foot cream is the most soothing product I have ever used on my poor feet!

Years ago I have tried 2 of their products - one was something to minimize under eye bags (based on another EDS member recommendation, and we both found it to be somewhat effective if combined with another products; later on we both moved on to other products); another one was hand cream - that was just OK but nothing dramatic.

Sounds like the impetus to use the line is more based on "romantic notions" than actual effectiveness. If I ever get back to Florence I'll certainly look it up though. I'd love to experience the museum-like store. |

Sis,
They have a new line of products that are geared toward the "scientific effectiveness" consumer, so they are trying to be all romantic and then some!
I really like the texture and hydration of the F creme, and will be saving it for winter. So I'll update this as I test its "effectiveness!"

Very Good! It will be interesting to read your eval.
Avalange - I read reviews (of shopping in the store in Florence) and some said the shpping experience was difficult in that they couldn't test or smell anything and that salespeople were hard to come by and not always pleasant. What did you think? |

Sis,
DEFINITELY wait until you are in Italy or around a store (I think they have stores in NYC and LA) to try. Everything has very specific fragrances and the point is to go to the shop and discover the line!
