Before I explain what I'm looking for, I just want to say that I am not trying to replace diet and exercise. I am in reasonably good shape, more active than most, and eat well. I am less than 5 pounds overweight, if any at 5'7 and 125 lbs. What I am, is lumpy.
I have cellulite.
As bad as it gets for someone my size. I have always had it. Now that I've turned 30, I now have some awesome saddlebags and a less defined stomach to match. Where there used to be definition, now a strange doughy layer of skin is stretched over it. Nothing drastic, just enough for me to hit the realization my body is changing, and not for the better.
What I am looking for is assistance with localized fat melting. The Tripollar Pose, the GForm, Wellbox (out of my budget but you get the idea). Any favorites? Does the GForm really work?? I know there are mixed reviews on the Pose. (PQ, I hope you read this post because your recommendations and detailed input are so very helpful, and I know you've tried some of these to perfect your body). Any information would be appreciated, especially what's a waste of money and time. |

Hi Ava with Wings,
I have tried most things to manage localised fat, and my advice is:
If you need to lose weight none of the machines do that for you, as we all know this is a combination of diet and exercise, but the following works for me:
GForm - or electrolipolysis, does work on areas where you need to lose stubborn small areas of fat, this is more a sculpting process rather than losing pounds of weight, if you used the GFORM every other day for a month you will see a difference, the key is to do some intense exercise afterwards or use a vibration plate, this is to burn up the fat that has been released into the lymphatic system, or use the lymphatic drainage program on the GFORM, do not drink alcohol or fizzy drinks whilst trying to use the GForm as this stops the machine working.
POSE - I have found that this really works to tighten an area that has some laxity and a very small amount of fat to burn, you need to really work at this with the POSE, the results are very slow but I am delighted with the results, it is expensive as the gel is £50.00 / tube.
Wellbox - did nothing for me at all, but it is good on the face to stimulate circulation and stimulate the lymphatic systems, especially if you are prone to dark circles and bags, I have found the wellbox does nothing for lifting the face or reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
I think the Wellbox can be used in conjunction with the GForm to stimulate the lymphatic system, but I prefer to do 30 minutes vibration plate which works for me.
Hope this helps.

So great to see you posting PQ...really miss you I am interested in the vibration plate...have heard it is good for bone loss. Any brands you recommend??? What about cost....I realize you are in the UK and products might be different here in the US. |

Toby - I purchased a vibration plate and whilst waiting for it to be delivered I did allot of research on the web. What I discovered is that it is not recommended for fat burning (which is what I was after). There were also a number of reports stating that vibration is not good for the spine. Everything that I read really put me off the device. Anyway, when it arrived I tried it out on the highest setting (should have started out on a lower setting) and decided that I didn't like it at all - so I sent it back.
But do some research on the web - my main concern were the reports of spinal injuries due to the vibration. |

Hi Toby, really miss you too darling xx - I bought the cheapest one off Amazon.co.uk - £250.00 - and it does the job, I agree with Keliu that it doesn't burn fat, but it does tone, and quickly, if you are in a hurry, the key to avoid spinal injury is to make sure you bend you knees when on the plate. I would search Amazon.com. A friend of mine who is a nurse swears by these plates to give general toning for people who are short of time or who are unable to do any other type of toning exercise.

Wow, I thought I knew everything out there, then bam, vibration plate. I don't know how, but I've never ever heard of this before.
Great responses, thank you very very much for sharing your experiences!! I'm at a stage where I need a little help, a decent diet and an active lifestyle just aren't enough anymore. My job is somewhat physical - I'm a deskside tech in a financial institution, so I run around all day long and fix computer problems, sometimes with giant pieces of hardware. I keep gravitating towards the Pose, although it looks like the Gform might be better suited to my lifestyle. It looks small enough to conceal at work, maybe. Does anyone know if this is about the size of a cell phone? Or do the pictures make it look more portable than it actually is?
I read the ad for the lipo machine... I dunno, I tend not to trust vendors that didn't take the fifteen minutes to proofread their spiel before posting. There are a few people that tried the Pengu lipo machine on this thread, but I didn't see many detailed reports. |

Ava with wings - I think the reviews on the Pose thread have been mediocre at best.
If I were you, I would fork out the money for a professional fat loss treatment using the same technology and see how that goes. But do some research, some methods of melting fat away have been banned in France. |

Hi PQ,
so these really work? which GForm machine do you have? I was looking at the Pengu system, but the reviews from users don't seem that great. I've had lipo in the past, but there are some areas that look a little uneven, or could have done with a bit more taken out. I was therefore thinking of trying a machine like this,
thank you

I bought the GFORM professional from Ebay it was £500.00 and worth every penny. It really works well.
Good luck

I don't have recommendations as per spot treating but the best method for fat loss is weight training, HIIT and intermittent fasting. I wrote a post with some links on the lounge board. |

I fell that I am not in shape and my job is similar where I have to be active and walk down these hallways to get to the other side of the office. I love it, but it doesn't help make me lose weight. I find that once you reach your 30's, it does get a lot harder. It doesn't help if you have inactive thyroid like I do.
A few years ago and I wish I remember what it was called, it was this rubber pad placed on all parts of your body you needed help with on burning fat. It has this pulse thing. I found that it helped and if I can find something like that again, I would by it. That only time I got that series of treatment was at a spa. I remember for a few years after that, those fat body parts would still twitch when I was resting in bed. My weight did go down for being active and that treatment helped some on my large hips.
If anyone know what I am talking about, can you tell me what is the name of that machine? |

It IS harder after 30. I eat well, and really I'm only 120 pounds, 5'7. But the truth is, it doesn't look as good as it used to at the same weight. There are a couple spots that just look, well, fat. Hoping to zap the crap out of my thighs and lower belly. I did make an appointment at a local body sculpting place, they have the SX 4000, which is microcurrent I believe. I want to see how I respond to it. My options are very limited being in Minnesota. I've lived other places, and the people here believe themselves to be "cutting edge" like the other metropolis areas in the country, but honestly they are 5 to 10 years behind the rest of America. Sorry Minnesota.... |

I really wanted to post this on the thread that is just about the Pose tripollar device but couldn't find it(if someone has that link please let me know). Anyway I purchased the Pose tripollar device several years ago and I hate to admit I never did a series of treatments. I was so face focused that I didn't take the time and energy to focus on other areas. This summer has been the focus on cellulite and I am trying several things. One that is showing immediate results is the Pose device. I have done five treatments so far and there is definite change. It takes time....thigh,bottom, and stomach. The area that I have cellulite is thighs but I thought what the heck let's cover all the bases while I am at it. I do without doubt see a change in the cellulite and it is immediate. Now does that mean it is gone for good or just being shrunk for a short while?????My guess is being shrunk for now and hopefully reduced upon the series of treatments. |

I'm using the Pengu and loving it. Which surprisingly really does work, dont ask me how though because the instruction booklet has gone kaput and I'm using it once a day for twenty minutes.
A few days ago when looking in the mirror the results were really quite obvious and after only a couple of weeks use, I no longer have to suck in. I didnt think it would work quite so fast and only increased the amount of usage time because to me it sounded more likely to work that way.
The cream that comes with it is an icky mess though and has caused me to break out, plus it also contains ivy, not to sure why it's included though |

Is this machine supposed to be different from all the other vibration exercise machines on the market because it uses sonic waves? A while back I bought one of the vibration machines - and after I'd bought it, decided to do some research on them. Overall, they don't have a good reputation. Apparently, they are useless for weight loss and they can also injure the spine from all the shaking. I ended up sending mine back. I can't see how the sonic waves would make this machine any more beneficial. |

I've been using the GForm micro for three weeks now and am achieving the results I want that diet and exercise weren't. It does a subtle spot reduction every time I use it, including some promising results on cellulite. Its a little early to say it works on cellulite as I have to keep going for at least a couple months to make sure hormone fluctuations aren't a factor in the improvements. I am more than pleased.
I ride my bike home from work, and when I'd normally be resting on my couch sipping my afternoon tea, I use the GForm (hows that for multitasking). I usually get back on the bike or do some aerobic activity afterwards, which is normal in my day. I have lost about half an inch on my stomach and my legs fit in my pants better.
Anyone reading this thread that says diet, I'm not trying to tone up or lose weight, which is why I'm not interested in a diet or exercise method. I'm actually in great shape muscle wise, I'm just getting old and lumpy in places. |
