There is a mention of polysorbate 80 in the OCM thread. It acts as a surfactant to make the product rinse more easily. I thought this could come in handy for some of the hair oil treatments and did some research. I found out it can also help with thinning hair as well - double bonus! I have poly 80 from GoW, but the only info I'm finding ratio wise is for skin care. Any guidance on how much should be used in a hair product? Thanks! |

There was already a discussion about using that for hair loss:

It was suggested to mix SKB, distilled water, castor oil and poly 80 in equal quantities and use it as a pre-shampoo treatment to leave in for 30 minutes. |

Thank you for the information, but that isn't quite what I'm asking. I'd like to add the poly 80 to oil treatments for hair conditioning. The fact that it helps thinning is hair is just something I came across when researching whether the item I purchased for skin care is appropriate for hair care.
I've seen the 10% ratio for skin care, but I haven't seen anything for hair care. The hair loss treatment has it at 25%, but my focus is more on the ease of rinsing than hair loss. |
