I have a few face peels at home, but I am not sure if I can use them on my body. Can anyone recommend a good and moderately-priced body peel?
I've checked the Dr. Dennis Gross Body Peel, it sounds good but so unreasonably expensive (90CAD)! |

GQue, thanks for letting me know about the Dr. Dennis Gross Body Peel, I would hate to pay so much money!
I have tried Jan Marini Bioglycolic body lotion and even though it works well at making the skin smooth, I would like to get something stronger and less greasy.
EDS carries Donell Super Skin AHA 20 Body Tingle which is 55 CAD for 240 ml. I wanted to try that.
Where do you buy Glycolix Pads? I see that the cheapest price on ebay is 19 + 15 = 34 CAD |

Why would it be any different than the peel you use on your face? The body skin is actually less sensitive. I don't know if a scrub or chemical is better for the body, though I'm fighting KP so I got a 50% glycolic peel that I use for my face too. You just spread a thin layer on your body where you need it before your shower and then get in your shower 1 minute later to rinse. |

BYRG, I have no idea why we cannot use face peels on the body. I have a few face peels that say "formulated for facial skin only" or "facial use only". |

Hi! I've used the Dr. Dennis Gross Body Peel Pads, and it's the same results (for me)as using a 2% BHA lotion on my body. Nice & Smoothing, but, easily the same results as using the cheap-but-beloved Walgreen's 8% AHA face cream on my body (I use it on my body--it breaks out my face). After the first couple times, I used only the Step One peel pads, hoping for stronger results... nothing stronger, and no irritation. I wouldn't purchase it again.
Every couple of months, I'll order Glycolix Elite 20% pads, and used them on my body (I usually need 5 or 6 pads--but it's a container of 60 pads, for around $25, and it's usually cheaper than listed, since there's always a 10 - 20% coupon code). They do amazing things my feet, too! Also, I use a pair of latex medical gloves when using the pads--they'll dry out your nails/cuticles if you don't.
Let us know what you try, and how you like it! |
You all keep talking about this walgreens cream..and I can't find it. What isle do you find it in..what does it look like? |

Yeh it doesn't really make sense to me. I understand the opposite as products made for the body are usually too harsh for the delicate facial skin, yet the opposite wouldn't be true! I think they try to get us to buy as many seperate products from them as possible so there is a specialized product for every inch of our body and face! Lol. Don't use a body lotion or sunscreen on the face even though it's much larger and cheaper than the special face cream and face sunscreen that has almost the exact same ingredients in a much smaller bottle for a lot more money! And you need a hand cream too!
Anyways, I bought this on Amazon and I like it. It doesn't say not to use it on the body and it mentions benefits to razor bumps and stretch marks which suggests use on the body so it is ok!

You can get it cheaply on ebay (lots of different sellers) for $10-$15. I've bought it for years from ebay. All different strengths; I usually get 70% & dilute it myself, it goes further that way. |

Papaya/pineapple enzyme masks for the face works, though it's probably more gentle than AHAs for the body. An example would be Freeman. I wet my body than slather it on generously and whilst shampooing my hair, let it work. |

Can anyone suggest some homemade and natural skin peels? I would prefer to have something homemade than buying products. |

An update on the pads:
Great product! I like using pads more than a lotion (less sticky and less time-consuming). Skin is smooth and soft. Thank you for the recommendation, GQue! |

RussianSunshine, I think it would be a good idea to try the cheaper one from EDS. I have to agree that using AHA lotion is cheaper. I use Lac-Hydrin AHA 12%, but recently, I ordered from MUAC a sample kit of Lactic Acid peel and so far, I like it. Next time, I plan to order a larger size and use that on my chest, arms, hands, top of my feet and anywhere else.
I just thought of something......is it possible that NewDirections sell this in bulk?
Dennis Gross body peel is very expensive and I couldn't justify the cost. I bought it once and I did love it. I try very hard not to order from the U.S.A. because the shipping cost is so annoying!
If you end up finding out that there is something you like in my area, you could have it sent to me and I will forward it to you to save money on cost. |

I love, love, love the Freeman Pineapple Enzyme masque, it is meant for the face but can also be used on the body.
It i really great for removing fake tan, getting rid of dry skin, and adding a very nice glow to the arms and decolatage area. |

Skincare, many thanks for your suggestions!
What do you mean "something you like in my area"? Are we not in the same area?

Oh! I thought you are in Ottawa! I forgot, and you did tell me your area.
This is off topic, but I just wanted to let you know that I went to NewDirections and the place is very, very clean and the price is a lot better then the health food store.
Please let us know what brand and products you are using on your body. Also, share with us the length of time it took to do the peels or when using AHA. |

I have that in my stash somewhere! I never thought of using it on my body. It's so cheap that it'd be perfect for slathering on all over. How long do you leave it on? Thanks for the idea! |

I would not suggest a chemical peel on your body....
I don't think it is necessary to have use a chemical peel on your body when you can use an inexpensive apricol body scrub DAILY during a shower. In order to do this, use a foaming body wash to use with apricot scrub. It removes the dry skin and makes your skin so silky smooth after a shower. Use daily and you will never think of using a chemical peel on your body!

Many people find physical scrubs and/ or sulphate surfactants or alkaline cleansers drying and irritating. Some want to even out hyperpigmentation or remove sun damage. An AHA like lactic acid will exfoliate and hydrate simultaneously, plus is unlikely to cause sensitivity because it is naturally found in our skin. |

I think you are right Firefox. Lac-hydrin is even safe for acne prone skin. It can still burn your skin, but with time, it gets better. |
