Hello everyone.
I posted recently about trying hydroquinone my dermatologist gave me.
I have put it on all my freckles and brown spots for almost 2 weeks now. My regime is:
AM
Wash face and tone (Dr.H and Simple toner)
Vitamin C Serum (PSF)
Sunblock- Nia24 Physical
PM
Wash face and tone (Dr. H and Simple)
Dab the hydroquinone 4% gel onto brown spots/freckles with a Q Tip
Retin A 0.025% cream every 2 nights, on the 3rd I use Neostrata AHA15
I know I use a lot of stuff...but my skin seems OK (and it was all introduced slowly). About 1x a week I use Korres Yoghurt Mask and my skin is a lot happier for it (it alleviates dehydration).
I started off only dabbing the HQ on the giant brown spot I had- but I have started putting it on any faint freckles etc I had as well. I have noticed that it has made one larger faint freckle- that was pretty much unnoticable to the eye unless very very up close, i.e. only I would notice it- become darker. I have only applied the HQ for a few days now...It is now a 'noticeable' big freckle.
The colour is a red/light brown kind of like it's a darkening freckle I guess.
My question is- do I stop using this HQ?? I have some PSF skin lightener I can use instead.
Is this darkening normal?! Please note I do NOT go in the sun- I am at work 5 days a week indoors and all the daylight I get is from waiting for a bus for work (10 mins MAX) and I cover my face in sunblock so it's white and wait for it to sink in. On the weekends, I do not sunbathe or spend anytime outdoors apart from walking from A to B.
Thanks!!! |

You need to speak to your doctor. This is why you pay him.
I am using Divine Derriere to fade my freckles. |
