This past year I started using the DHC cleansing oil to remove my Shiseido SPF 55 sunblock. It worked well for many months; however, it started breaking me out on my forehead and chin. I have combination normal skin, and I rarely break out, only when I don't thoroughly wash off all my sunblock. I don't really wear makeup either so I basically just wash off my sunblock. To remove the possible film left by the cleansing oil I always follow up with gentle foaming cleanser. At first I didn't want to believe that my cleansing oil was responsible for the breakouts so I purchased topical acne medication, but it left my skin irritated. The breakouts on my skin were deep under the skin bumps. They would later surface on my forehead and chin. Interestingly I didn't break out all across my forehead, only in the middle. After a two month hiatus I recently started using it. So far, no break outs, but I've only used it for five days. Do you guys know what could possible be responsible for breaking me out? If I'm washing off the oil I should be fine right? I've tried cleansing creams and milks, but those tend to irritate my skin, even the ones that are marketed towards sensitive skin. The only cleansing cream I've liked is the Menard cleansing cream, some high-end Japanese brand that I'm not going to use since I'm going to college soon. Advice would be greatly appreciated! :]
I haven't been able to wear sunblock lately since I currently do not have an effective method of removing it. |

I think its unlikely after 6 months of use it suddenly started to cause breakouts. What did you do to clear up your breakouts? You stopped the DHC and Shiseido? How long had you been using the Shiseido? |

I used DHC cleansing oil 6 years ago. It is not good and bad to me. However it is strange it break your skin after few months later. It may be another issue. |

I've been using the Shiseido for about a year. My skin is now sensitive to many products since I applied so much acne medication to clear the breakouts. It didn't really help as they were deep under the skin breakouts. When I stopped using the cleansing oil, two days later, my breakouts subsided. I only stopped using the cleansing oil. I think I might try the Kose Deep Cleansing Oil, which contains mineral and rice bran oil. Hopefully it won't break me out after a while. I've heard of many people who break out from cleansing oils even though they follow up with a gentle cleanser.
I thought cleansing oils were suitable for combination skin |
