Niacinamide (or Niacin) has been tauted by famous dermatologist Dr. Baumann and on the blog futurederm. It has several benefits including helping with hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, even acne. Does anyone incorporate niacinamide into their regime? If so, what products do you use that contain niacinamide?

I use NIA24 products which contain pro-Niacin (precursor of niacinamide). There is a thread on this line of products:
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=18153

Some people report great results for sun damage and pigmentation (not melasma though). Others have broken out in rashes. Once again, your mileage may vary. It works for some, but not everyone.

Cool thanks. I actually have looked into that one. Its a bit pricey tho. I wonder if there are any similar products that are less expensive?

I use Olay's regenerist serum in between Vit C treatments. My skin hates excessive exfoliation. I read from Paula's book this ingredient help repair skin. Olay seems ok but no strong effects.

Niacin seems like a good indredient. Thanks for the Olay tip. I am impressed by their offerings... I'm really interested in Olay Total Effects Daily Fragrance Free lotion. The ingredients are very impressive! Here they are:

Water, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isosteartate, Polyacrylamide, Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethiconol, Benzyl Alcohol, Ethylparaben, Laureth-7, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Oleth 3-Phosphate, Ammonium Polyacrylate, Vitamin B3, Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E.

Its a good source of Niacin, and M.A.P!

Olay's Total Effects for Mature Skin, I think, has a higher content of niacinamide; it lists niacinamide as its third(?) ingredient.

I've used Olay Regenerist before. No visible effects on me after one bottle. For NIA24, there were visible effects after a few days. It evens out skin tone so well for me that I am happy to go out without make up on at the weekends. I suppose that's why there's a price differential.

Has anyone tried crushing a Niacinimide vitamin tablet in aloe vera? I was reading on another site that it can work. Apparantly the aloe vera is a good "delivery system."

The mineral sunblock. But this is not for people with dry skin. I found it very mattifying.

If you want to DIY, you can purchase the Niacinamde powder fromwww.gardenofwisdom.com and the gel base for actives or plain hyaluronic acid serum and you can mix the powder in either of those. They also sell a blemish gel with Niacinamide.

Do you think I could use this as a night treatment even tho its a mineral sunblock? its a much better value and it still contains 5% Niacin.
