My primary complaint about my 57 yr old skin is hyperpigmentation. I have very fair (Celtic) skin and have always tried to take good care of my skin and avoid the sun. I have always been good about wearing SPF but until recently I was not applying it correctly; in previous years I was using chemical sunscreen (Anthelios, La Roche Posay, etc.) but applying it AFTER my antioxidant serum and moisturizer. I thought I was protecting my skin but over the years my spots just continued to darken. About a year ago I learned how chemical sunscreens work and decided to switch to physical sunblocks (love Josie Maran 40 SPF!!!). I am very happy with the change and my overall my skin looks better--doesn't seem to react to incidental sun exposure with redness and stinging the way it used to but I can't seem to fade the hyperpigmention. I have tried Skinceuticals, Vivite, Skinactives, IPL. Suggestions?? Thanks everyone. |

My older sister was blessed with very fair skin and freckles. She has tried all kinds of different OTC products. I am not sure what product she is using but I do know she talks about a site called skin-bleaching-creams.org that is full of useful information w/o pushing a lot of different products on the reader.
Hope this helps! |

HI, Hyperpigmentation is something I wish to tackle too as I have very fair skin and these marks are not doing nme any favours . I was reading somewhere on this forum about a cream called Divine Derriere (sorry , don't have the link) and it seems to have a good review so I (impulsively) have bought some from Ebay and am awaiting it's arrival. If it is a success I shall post the results here. I also read recently (on Earthclinic) that people have had success with ACV so I'm thinking to do an experiment (one arm with the cream and the other with the ACV. The things I do in the name of research!) Good luck |
