Here's a link to reviews on various blockers:

To curb carb cravings, start going to sleep earlier in a completely dark room. Exposure to too much light year round causes your brain to think it's still summer which causes a series of hormonal/endocrinological responses which make you crave carbs and put on weight.

I have battled weight all of my life and after hitting menopause I really struggled. One thing that has worked for certain to lose weight is Green Tea Tablets (I bought them on ebay for about $7) and I take 2 with every meal and drink Green Tea 1/2 diluted with Minute Maid Lemonade cold during the day. I also use GABA every night which is supposed to make you release growth hormone and curb carb cravings.
(I have used those Carb Blockers, etc that you mentioned and they are more for helping you out when you cheat, rather than weight loss in my experience).
I have sweet tooth also and I try to find replacements like chocolate flavored rice cakes or chocolate sorbet (it's non-fat ) for candy and desserts. Fruit is so much better if you can wean yourself off of the chocolate.
I eat homemade Chicken/(mostly)Vegetable/Noodle Soup and Salad for Lunch/Dinner and Oatmeal for Breakfast. So far, I feel healthy, full and have lost weight.
But MOST importantly you HAVE to move, I found that riding a stationary bike every day for at least 15 mins helps me to lose weight. I read that it uses up 4x the calories of walking.
And lastly you might try Acupuncture to put your body back into balance. I feel it helped me a lot. (We have a "Community Acupuncture Clinic" with $20 treatments, locally). |
