Glacial Mineral Mud: Purifying pore cleansing treatment
This dark brown facial masque is very smooth and creamy, making application very easy. I use a foundation brush and apply in upward strokes from just under the jaw line. Above the lips I stroke outward and upward toward the cheek. Under the eyes I apply from the outer corner to the nose bridge. Just below the brow bone I stroke from the nose bridge out and upward toward the outer eye. A fairly thin layer is all that is needed and complete dry time is about 10 minutes. As the masque dries you can feel the skin become very taut although somewhat less constrictive than Esther’s Secret. I leave this on for approx 20 – 30 minutes and remove with warm water, splashing for about 1 minute. (Removal is less laborious than ES.) When the masque is completely dry blackheads I didn’t even know I had became very visible for removal once the masque has been washed off. NOTE: The masque itself does not extract the ‘junk’; it just makes it more visible for manual removal – if you so choose. The results are remarkable – forehead frown lines, crow’s feet and lip lines are completely smoothed over and the skin is noticeably tighter. Large pores are minimized considerably. A good moisturizer is essential as this masque is very drying. I will not repurchase because...see below.
French Clay & Algae: Firming treatment
Almost the same as above. For comparison, I applied this masque on one side of my face (and my husband’s) and the Glacial Mineral Mud on the other side. Application is the same. Texture is the same. Dry time is the same. Ease of removal is the same. Tautness is the same. Pore size reduction is the same. The differences: the color is green, the odor is not as strong, it is not as drying (but a moisturizer is still needed), blackheads and pores are not noticeable while the masque is on. End results are the same. I will repurchase.
Sea Plasma: Anti-Aging treatment for cell renewal
I purchased this as a moisturizing masque, although it wasn’t The Body Deli’s top recommendation for me – the Oatmeal and Honey Masque was. The Sea Plasma is a lime green gel I apply with my fingers. I didn’t find it very moisturizing and it has a strong cucumber smell, which irritated my eyes. I followed their advice and tried to leave this masque on all night, but I didn’t like the texture either when it was moist or when it dried. I will not repurchase, instead I will try the Oatmeal and Honey masque and Peaches & Cream next.
Since these masques require refrigeration, they are very refreshing – except when there is 2-1/2 ft of snow outside. Customer service is wonderful. Shipment took less than one week which I wasn’t expecting since it has to be packed on ice. Each product was $20 (Christmas special) and had a hand written expiration date – mine were all approximately 4 months and yielded 12 or so masques.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who has ever written a product review – I had no idea it was so time consuming. |

Thank you for your excellent review. Again I love the French Clay Firming Mask. For the price you really can't go wrong as it goes a long way. Worth the price. You will find the Peaches and Cream very moisturizing. I wish they had a BodyDeli here on Cape Cod. |

I have been using peaches and cream mask. Although I like the refreshing feeling after it and red face ( it brings the blood to my face, but goes away after 5 minutes), I personally do not find it very moisturizing. My face feels soft but I can get more moisture from using Decleor Nutri-Delice Nourishing Cereal Mask.
I will try Oatmeal and Honey mask next time. |

Great review! I love the title of the post - sounds like the title of a book or a seminar or something like that |

I have several of their masks but the problem I find is that they need to be refrigerated. I do all my skin care in my bathroom upstairs and find it a pain to use the masks since I have to run downstairs to get it then to put it away. I tend to say that I will use it tomorrow but then never do. |

Penelope....
You (and your husband) have got to be the Queen and King of masque testing!
How many are you trying right now?

Let me see...I masque every evening although this morning I did use the ES masque since work was delayed 2 hours because of SNOW! And I did (do) look marvelous today.
I will review the following masques but not until I (we) have used them for a good month or so.
- Origins Drink Up hydrating masque
- Origins Clear Improvement (charcoal)
- Origins You're Getting Warmer (purifying clay)
And of course, The Body Deli's masques (3) which I reviewed earlier this week and Esther's Secret.
Once I finish with these who knows what's next. Any suggestions?
And to think, before I joined this forum (less than 6 months ago) I basically used only Cetaphil moisturizer and cleaner. I've come a LONG way baby |
