I got some mini tubes of Cargo Lash Activator, YSL Mascara Volume Faux Cils, and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! over the last few weeks so I've been tested them out.
YSL Mascara Volume Faux Cils - this one is my favourite. It applies very nicely, there's no clumps, it's a nice dark rich colour. The lashes pop, but it's still manageable for daywear.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! - this one is the natural one, the result is subtle and natural-looking. There's no real volume or length. It's basically your lashes, only black.
Cargo Lash Activator - this one goes on kind of goopy and clumpy. It's a dark, striking colour, makes for a more obviously made-up eye look. It kind of makes the lashes look plastic.
So: if you want a natural, subdued look - go for Tarte, if you're looking for more of dramatic look, go for YSL. |

I have the YSL mascara here and it is pretty good!
I already have very long lashes and when I use YSL people are actually stopping me to ask about my eyelashes... (which I find very strange...).
I have also gotten a few nice compliments from guys about my eyes when using YSL mascara...
-but not too sure if that also has to do with my skin tone and eye colour (I have olive skin, green eyes and brown hair)...
I just wish YSL was cheaper to buy. |

| I find that Smashbox Full Exposure mascara really adds length and volume to lashes, without any clumps ! It's a favorite one of mine, along with Définicils by Lancôme which has always worked wonders for my lashes (although I would say the effect is less dramatic with that one, more natural). I have never tried YSL but I definitely want to now !! |

Might sound like a silly question, but what are the brushes like on each?
For reasons I am clueless on, I cannot use mascara's with the plastic brushes. It comes out too thick and clumpy on me.
