I am on a constant quest to achieve beautiful skin and attempt to banish pimples from my face. I was surfing the web the other day, trying to find a miracle acne cure (does such a thing exist? ) and I came across an acne message board forum with hundreds of recommendations and discussions about how to deal with acne.
Anyway, there was a post on the website about a wonderful and cheap method on how to deal with acne. I'm usually pretty dubious about such posts, as they usually advertise a 'magic' acne cure cream....but in reality, the products are a waste of time and money.
Anyway, the message I read was not marketing a product. Instead, they recommended using 3 magic products that many households have in their kitchen.
Wait for it.....!
- Apple cider vinegar
- Baking soda
- Egg whites !!
To exfoliate: mix a little baking soda in water and use as a mild scrub (sounds a bit harsh to me, but I don't think you're supposed to rub it too hard on your skin)
To tone: Apparently, if you dilute apple cider vinegar in water and use this as a toner, it does wonders for acne scars.
Mask: whip up an egg white with a drop of lemon juice and use this as a mask...!
Here is the web link to the page I found the above recommendation on:
http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=35135&hl=delna
I'm tempted to try the apple cider vinegar and baking soda bit....but the egg white procedure just sounds like a lot of effort and a waste of an egg.
I suppose it's a cheap alternative to many acne products out there......what do you guys think about using these products on your face? At first, I thought that using the vinegar and baking soda would be a little harsh.....but apparently...if you dilute the vinegar and don't rub the baking soda scrub too hard...it's ok. The other thing that tempted me to try this, is all the raves that this procedure got on the acne.org forum website. It got the thumbs-up from many people on that board.
Has anyone else on the EDS forum tried this???????????
Any thoughts?? |

Hey! to a certain extent i do agree with these claims, however, this is where the problem with acne can lye. Is your acne caused by a hormonal imbalance, by a bacterial problem, and then is this then triggered more so by not having a proper regime. Apple cider vinegar is used for many different things. The body has always reacted well to it, and it will act as a mild anti bacterial agent. Lemon and egg whites can act as a mild firming mask with lemon being an astringint quality. Baking soda will disolve for the most part so make sure you use it in a very gentle scrub. But to make a long story short i cant see this hurting and am very curious to see what happens, I'd give it a try! [/b][/i] |
