Hi all, I'm a new member, just registered.
After 5 years staying home take care of family and kid, I suddenly realized that I have grown old and unattractive, after spending hours gardening under the hot cruel sun in Texas. I am determined to do something about freckles now. Please help me select a few effective whitening products I desperately need. Thanks for any recommendations!

Welcome to the Forum, Nakmom!
Can I suggest that you look into a Vit C regime? Before I stumble into EDS and Vit C, my skin was tired and uneven.
I tried Vit C and have never looked back. It does a wonderful job of brightening your skin and giving a clearer and healthier glow. Oh, it does somewhat lighten my skin tone (as a "side" effect). And, of course, Vit C is suppose to stimulate collagen production, is an antioxidant - all antiageing properties that all ladies crave for.
I realise that Vit C may not be suitable for everyone, but you should give it a shot.
Oh, you should invest in a good sun protector -Skinceuticals has a good range - do shop around EDS.
Hey, it's great that you are taking the first step to enhance the way you look.
Cheers

Totally agree with Jenny's recommendations. Vit. C and sun protection is a wonderful start to healing your complextion of sun damage. I started adding Vit. C to my skin care routine a month ago. The one thing I noticed was a brighter skin color. You won't regret using Vit. C. I suggest that you start with only 10% serum on your face and 5% around eye area. |

I would also highly suggest vit C serums. I've had great results in terms of skin clarity and tone with vitamin C serums. My mum also had a very visible difference when she first started using it. Of course, I would also suggest that you use a high SPF sunblock and perhaps incorporate a product with Glycolic Acid (like the MD Formulations Vit-a-Plus range for example) to resurface your skin and help fade the freckles as well. |

Not at all Aga, I think it's a good age and it's probably around when I started. I highly recommend Vivier or Skinceuticals. Vivier is my fave, I started with the 10% one. You still need to remember to use sunblock though and should also be doing some exfoliating to help absorption of the vit C serum. |

I noticed that 5% Vit C sreum had been recomended for eye area..
Do I have to get 2 of those then? 10% for face and 5% for eyes? Could I replace the 5% with an eye cream?
THX!

Aga - this depends on how sensitive your eye area is and also just on your preference. Some people use 12% or even 20% around the eye area, others prefer to stick to 5% and others HAVE to stick to 5% because their eye area just can't handle anything higher. |
