I keep a list of products I want to try according to recommendations/reviews I've read on this site. The Carol Priest Blue Chamomile Facial Wash Cream was on my list of cleansers I wanted to try after Eve had written a review on it. Went to order some today but it is no longer for sale on The Apothecary's Cat website.
Instead they have a Lavender and Active Manuka Honey cleansing cream and a Rose and Almond cleansing cream. I was feeling particularly weak and so have ordered both.
I was restrained though and only ordered the smaller 15g jar sizes.
I really don't need anymore cleansers at the moment. I have about 6 that I use regularly and another 4 that I use once in a blue moon. I really don't know why I keep buying cleansers. I suppose it is my weakness like Stila eyeshadows are for Mabsy and lip products for Carekate.
Was just wondering if anybody had tried Carol Priest products. It's an NZ based company and so I imagine the products may only be widely available to those in New Zealand or Australia. |

pure evil this site.
Did they say why they've stopped selling it? I know quite a few people really liked that cleanser.
Lavender and Manuka sounds a good alternative. |

Nothing on the site about what happened to the Blue Chamomile cleanser. I checked out the official Carol Priest website and they are still selling it. Still, don't fancy ordering from NZ as I'll probably get stung by customs.
Stupidly, I researched the products after placing my order . I thought that the lavender & manuka cleanser would be for oily/combination skin as both ingredients are good for healing and so I imagined it would be aimed at the more oily, problematic skins. According to the Carol Priest website the lavender & manuka cleanser is for dry, sensitive, mature skins.
They say that the rose & almond cleanser is for normal/combination skin. I would have thought rose and almond were ingredients more beneficial for dry skins. Perhaps they just messed up on the website. Or perhaps I need to do more reading into essential oils. |

well lavender can be used by all skins, I imagine they are saying for dry skins because honey adds moisture...however manuka and honey in general is antiseptic so unless it's full of pore clogging nasties it might be ok. Let us know what you think of it. |

My package arrived this morning. Customer service was fantastic. They had run out of stock of the 15g jar in the one cleanser and so sent me a 50g jar instead at no extra charge.
The textures of both cleansers are very different. The lavender & manuka is much more emollient and so I guess that is why it is aimed at drier, mature skins.
I tried the rose & almond on one side of my face this morning and the lavender & manuka on the other. Both smelled great (as long as you like the smell of lavender and rose).
Will post a review once I've given them a good testing. |

I have been using the Lavendar, Manukau& Honey cleansing creme for over 12 months, it being recommended for the dry, sensive&Mature skin types. I thorougly recommend this product, it removes my all makeup including eye makeup which as we all know, can be difficult to remove. Seeing that I am talking about Carol Priest I would also like to recommend many of her products, in fact, I use the whole range suitable for my skin type. Love it.
