So today, I was feeling a little guilty - cheating on my usual electrologist by going to someone advertising cheaper rates.
It was my first appointment with this new person.
She appeared to be around my age...mentioned that she has 20 years of experience, then while she's working on me, she starts scolding me for using retinoids (she could tell by some of the flaking seen through the magnifying glass)...telling me how retinoids will ruin my skin and age me...then proceeds to try to win me over to the Dermalogica products she sells at her salon..ok.....
While I was lying there on the table, I kept noticing the deep wrinkles on her forehead...thinking that certainly Dermalogica is not helping her at all..lol.
As I got up to leave, she announced her age: 40...knock me over with a feather, the woman's face looks terribly weathered for only 40 years of age.
I didn't tell her my age, but she guessed us to be the same...didn't have the heart to tell her I'm a decade ahead of her...so much for retinoids, eh....
I'm generally not a catty person at all, but she had to go ahead and start with me...
Lesson - don't get me started
Peace all ! BFG |

I would have told her my real age at the end... that would have her really scratching her head |

Not sure why there is so much confusion in the 35 to 55 year old group- a lot of people our age don't understand skin care/the aging process for some reason. |

Well, hello, just wanted to ask, never heard the term before... what on earth is an "electrologist"????
Is it just a new term for the old term for a beautician or aesthetician? I'm really curious. Is this an english-american term?
Thanks BFG. |
