I would not recommend soy as it causes the body to increase estrogens. Some say evening primrose oil supp or something called black cohosh supp help increase breast size. Discuss any supp you plan to take with your doctor as supp can and often do react with prescribed medication, or existing medical conditions.Evening Primrose is recommended to help PMS as well.

It can actually have the opposite effect, because phytoestrogens (such as those found in soy isoflavones) are weaker estrogens than a woman's natural estradiol, estrone and estriol (estradiol being primarily responsible for secondary sex characteristics). Phytoestrogens will occupy the estrogen receptors in the body, making it impossible for the stronger estradiol (et al) to occupy the receptors, and thus reduce feminization.

Unless one is menopausal, right?

Even in menopause, women have estrogen in their bodies, but the ratio of estradiol/estriol/estrone changes. In menopause, estrone is the primary estrogen. Estradiol is the primary estrogen from puberty, throughout the fertile years, and prior to menopause. So, to answer your question, yes and no. If your estrone levels are very low, then theoretically there may be enough estrogen receptors for both natural estrogen and phytoestrogens, which is why soy sometimes helps to alleviate menopausal symptoms. (Envision a hormonal musical chairs, if you will---there are only a certain number of seats available, and the ideal recipients of those seats are the natural estrogens, not phytoestrogens.) However, the amount of estrogen needed to calm hot flashes, versus stimulate scalp hair growth, versus encourage breast development, are all different. The amount of estrogen needed to stop hot flashes is actually low, whereas the amount of estrogen needed to enlarge breasts is rather high, as is the case with hair growth stimulation...so there is another issue to consider, i.e the goal of phytoestrogen supplementation.
