I feel very silly for asking this but please bear with me. I'm currently on the (very intense) lookout for a new skin care line.
I have ordered a few things from another site which are completely organic but I want to pair them with some MD Formulations products.
My skin is combo. I have times when its flaking, other times when its can be quite oily. Visible pores and the dreaded 'bumpy skin' from I would assume blocked pores/mini pimples. My skin is not particularly sensitive but prone to breakouts. For these reasons I am looking to get products with aha/bhas. I am also looking to clear up my bumpy skin, reduce pore size and even out skin tone.
I am thinking of buying the MD Formulations combo skin kit to try out the range (I have been happy with mini samples sizes in the past) but I want to pair it with not only the organic stuff but the 'night rejuvination' serum from MD for nightly use + Dr Hauschkas rejuvination mask for weekly use (it has such great reviews).
Could I be completely going over the deep end to also get the DDF glycolic toner? I'm tossing up between that and another organic one to try to have a balance between natural/slightly chemical I'm a bit worried about completely drying out my skin or overdosing on the acid products which could lead to peeling/reddening.
I apologise for the length of the post, but I really am quite clueless about skincare and don't want to do anything harmful. Plus you ladies have been so helpful and friendly in the past . . .
Thanks so much! |

i'm not sure if you should do what you're thinking of. Someone else should know better on that.
All I want to say is add in these products slowly or you will become a peeling red mess!! |

I agree with the going slowly approach. If you want to add new products, please add 1 new product at a time. I have not tried any md formulation products. However, I have read raves about md forte cleanser 1. I heard it is very similar to md formulation but cheaper. It is suppose to help exfoliate and smooth out the skin. |

I have used a glycolic cleanser, toner, spot treatment and mask in the past with no problems. However, my skin was combo at the time and I didn't have problems with any dryness like you described. Basically, you might dry out your skin if you use too much AHAs or burn your skin if you use a product that has too high a concentration of AHA. I would also suggest adding one product at a time and only adding the next one if your skin is tolerating the previous additions well.
Btw, I'm pretty sure that the MDF kit for combo skin has an AHA toner in it - it's called "Facial Lotion". |

i'll say go slow with the DDF toner. i started with the 10% one and with the brightening cleanser = major peeling for someone who never had dry skin so now i rarely use both at the same time. or use the toner only on your t-zone or where your skin is oilier. HTH. |

Thanks for all the replies
I thought I may be going a bit overboard with 3 or 4 acidic products but just wanted confirmation.
I'll slowly introduce them into my regieme and cross fingers for results |
