This clear eye gel is made from ginseng, echinacea, grape seed, pineapple and orange flower extracts. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The price in US is $82 for 50 ml. I bought it in Florence for 35 euros. My main problem is under eye and eye lid puffiness. I am using this gel for about three months, and I like it very much. So far it is the best of all eye product I've tried for my problem. Actually it is the only product that does help, and I tried a lot of different products. It works with my sensitive skin - doesn't irritate it. It does reduce puffiness, it also maintains tone and elasticity around the eye area. To me it has a beautiful, faint herbal scent. |

I always stock up on their bath products whenever I'm in Italy. You can get their stuff in the U.S. at Barneys New York and Clyde's Pharmacy on Madison Ave, IF you are willing to sell your first born child to pay for it I was in Italy in early October so I have a stash of their body wash and body lotion to last me for a while. Yayyyyyy! |

I love their products, too. I was in Italy in July, and I did get several different products from them. Some of the products I didn't try, yet. In the next few days I will review another SMN product. |

Doba,
does it work better then PSF Cranberry Gel?
BTW, Katee - Barneys no longer carries the line, butwww.eluxury.com does.
I am still looking for a better solution for eye bags.
TIA,
Lucy. |

I love Santa Maria Novella body lotion. It is so pricy here (£60 compared to 20 Euros in the shop in Florence).
Last time I got it my sister had hauled back some body lotions and the lovely almond soap for me from Italy. I actually read the bottle and was really surprised to see petroleum on it - considering it is supposedly made to the same recipe as it was hundreds of years ago by the monks! My BIL is a scientist and he didnt think they would have had petroleum in Florence then. Naughty marketing claims! Still, it's a great body lotion.
Thanks for the tip on the eye cream, about time I started using one properly! |

Lucy,
It does work better for me. PSF Cranberry Gel doesn't really work on my bags. SMN eye gel is the only product that works for me. They are still there but not as bad. |

Doba,
thank you so much!
I could not even wait, I already ordered one from eluxury.com. Just hope it would work for me as well as it does for you.
I will let everyone know once I get it.
Thanks again,
Lucy. |

Doba,
could you, please, explain how are you using it?
I tried DCX 1st, wait until it is dry; then SMN. May be I should use it 1st, using it 2nd may affect it's effectiveness?
Also, do you use anything afterwards?
TIA,
Lucy. |

I use it after a toner. I use one pump for both eyes. After the application, I have a tightening sensation. I usually don't apply anything on top of it. On some days I use it a few times. I use it only during the day, not at night. At night I use cellcosmet.
On me, it works better then anything else I've tried. |

I love the smell as well. When I apply it there is some redness in the area. which signals to me that there are quite active ingredients there.
I will try to apply just it and nothing else and see if that would work out.
Doba, is your under eye are dry or oily?
Despite my combo towards oily skin I have very dry that particular area, so I am wandering if that will be enough?
Thanks,
Lucy. |

Hi Lucy,
My under eye area is dry. On some days when it is particularly dry, I apply Eye Contour Cream on top of it (after about 20-30 min).
When I apply SMN eye gel, I don't have any redness in the area, however, my girlfriend experienced some redness, and it was due to too much product (she used to apply one pump to under-eye area only, as I apply one pump to my under-eye area and eyelids). When she started applying less, she didn't have any redness.
Don't forget that I apply Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream at night, it is very moisturizing, so in the morning the under-eye area is usually not too dry.
Almost forgot, after a toner I apply Vitamin C gel, and on top of it I apply SMN eye gel. So, I apply two eye products in the moning, and as I said sometimes three when the under-eye area is too dry. |

Doba,
thank you so much.
It seems we have similar eye issues.
Could you, please, tell me what kind of C gel you use and what kind of eye cream in the morning?
At night, if I understand correctly, you use Cellcosmet eye cream.
TIA,
Lucy. |

BTW, why do you use C in the morning? As an antioxidant?

You are welcome, Lucy.
I use Vitamin C for eye and face only in the morning as an antioxidant. I believe you can use it at night or in the morning based on your preferences.
I cannot use a lot of products at night, because my face gets puffy. At night I only use Herbal Recovery Gel by Jurlique (face), Cellcosmet (eye), and a moisturizer (on top of Jurlique) for my neck. |

Thanks.
I was just curious after reading in another thread that the collagen building properties of vit. C will be significantly diminished by sun light.
I am very interested in getting an eye C product. Thanks again for the recommendation.

To my sirprise I do like it and use it almost daily. I also love the smell and consistency (am I crazy?).
Today is the 1st exception - I tried Katee's recommendation of Remergent + Eye Bright.
Will try it for a few days and let you guys know.
Thanks for a good recommendation,
Lucy. |

I am so glad you like it. I use it every day, and I also love the smell and consistency.
Do you still experience redness in the area after an application? |
