With fall/winter approaching, I know I am going to want great lip and surronding areas well protected. (As well as wanting wrinkle control....)What would you all recommend? Last year I did Jan Marini and was happy for the most part. It didn't wow me though. (Then again maybe I can't be wowed.....?)Have you tried anything that you wouldn't change no matter what? Same question for my hands and feet. Thank you for your suggestions!

Hi Barbara
There's nothing that I wouldn't change 'no matter what'. Don't get me wrong, I love (most) the products I use but I'm too curious about everything else to not try new stuff even if the stuff I have works wonders (though I always do go back to it).
I really like the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand Cream. It lasts ages (you only need a teeny amount), is non greasy and unscented (I hate it when my hand cream and my perfume compete!). Downside, no sunblock. I'm very tempted to try the Ahava hand cream as well (EDS has it). The more I look at the reviews the more I can't resist:
some reviews of Ahava Advanced Hand Cream
As far as foot cream goes I use the Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream overnight with socks on. Baby soft feet in the morning But if you have something against heavy greasy foot creams then this is not for you (put it this way, I would NOT use this without putting socks on afterwards or it'd be a mess). For lips I'm using Burt's Bees also (I love stuff that feels minty). I think it's great, my boyfriend says it dries out his lips. Go figure!

Thank you Mabsy!
I read all of the reviews, you're very kind to include that thread....it really helped.:P
I laughed at all of the "smell issues" so funny...so different....did the smell bother you? My husband and I both aren't big "smell" people. I love being next to a woman that is wearing a scent that works for her but on the other hand I don't wear anything myself and never have. Go figure.
I think I might give it a whirl though, the Ahava-thank you. I use Bert's bee and agree it is GREAT. I also have used for whole body (from EDS) the Vitaroma (Declor) and it was wonderful but didn't moisturize enough. The scent was wonderful, absorbed well etc., pricey-75.00 ish. I use it as a summer fix. My problem is the winter/fall.
Thanks again. P.S. Your boyfriend sounds like he is alot of fun to be with.....maybe a change in status?????? |

Yeah, quite a few reviewers mention the smell of Ahava. I actually haven't tried it, just very tempted to. The smell thing is the only thing holding me back (m, perhaps I should see if EDS has samples of it next time I order something). For now I'm sticking with Neutrogena Norwegian Formula
I'm a big perfume person myself and interestingly my other half has a very good sense of smell. He can actually smell my wrist and say 'oh you're wearing *insert fragrance name here* but something's not right.... you used that lemony hand cream again didn't you?' It's quite freaky 'coz I have lots of perfumes! I keep telling him he should work for a perfume company (oh think of all the perks! *hyperventilates* ).
LOL, and no change in status planned for the near future. Just taking it one day at a time and seeing where we end up |
