hii everybody
There was a time i had gr8 skin but suddenly i started getting whiteheads on my cheek .Whatever i did ,how much ever i tried i could'nt resist scarring .So i had many bt small icepicks on my right cheek bt they were'nt visible much. But to cure my pimples i started using retin a .Initially my skin swelled ,after 20 days of use i suddenly noticed that i got very very enlarged pores on the t-zone as well as on the cheek. Now my right cheek is horrible .Its all because of retin -a.
Hey people plzzz tell me would these pores shrink on their own or are their any treatments for them.
For god sake plzzz help me i really want to commit suicide .I really wanna kill that doctor who prescribed me retin a |

Ok so your seeing a doctor who prescribed you Retin A? What strength/medium did you start out with? How often were you using it?
Retin A is one of the major topicals out there that definitely does have an effect on pores, and can minimise them with long term usage, but you have to be realistic. All the studies on pub med were done up to and over a years mark, so its going to take that sort of time for you to get major results but it will happen.
Don’t commit suicide, that’s not going to help you. Instead go back to your doctor and tell him what has happened and get his views on what it is. |

Welcome Sunshine,
Sorry your going through this at the moment.
I just wanted to add that's it's important to wear sunscreen whilst using Retin A as the skin becomes more sensitive to the sun.
If your outdoors or near sunlight this should be reapplied every two hours.
It's is also important you do speak with the doctor though. |

If you are feeling suicidal please see a doctor about some antidepressants and/ or counselling. |

Sunscreen is so important, and because the original poster mentioned she was prescribed this I didn't think to ask, so its good that you check that.
However, there is something wrong in the every 2 hours quote. Some sunscreens - depending on their strength and UVA/UVB protection rating need to be applied more regularly than every 2 hours - and its worth checking the label fo the product you are using.

Thank you for this piece of interesting info - it's something I wasn't aware of myself - just one question do you have any links for more info on this? |

To be quite really frank with you, I don't believe some "doctors", unless I get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. This way I know if the advice to me is good enough
I am sorry to hear about your large pores. You said it was causing your pores to enlarge? This is not my case, in fact, with Retin-A, it minimized my pores to a minimum.
I do have a suggestion though for you.
-eat a healthy diet, no fried foods, no junk foods,
-drink plenty of plain water, not sugared drinks,
-use a mild foaming cleanser/gel to clean your pores 2x a day (see instruction below),
-don't use oil-based moisturizers.
-use Boscia "black" masque or extracting tools (to remove whiteheads).
Every morning you have to clean your face religiously.
Use warm water, damp your face with warm water, followed by foaming cleanser/gel. Gently foam your face in circular motion, concentrating on the white heads.
Rinse with warm water. Afterwards use a water-based moisturizer. DON'T POKE YOUR SKIN!
To get rid of white heads, use Boscia black masque (EDS do not sell this, but the shopping channel sells it,www.theshoppingchannel.ca), this will remove the whiteheads. You must use this Boscia black masque after while skin is still damp. This way, your skin is kinda soft and the white heads will be taken out of your skin in no time. Do this masque 2 or maybe 3 times a week until desired results are achieved.
OR you can use an extracting tool to remove the whiteheads (no poking with your hands!). Use a mild alcohol before and after each extraction so that it sterilize the area.
Be happy--- don't be stress as it will only aggravate your skin.
Good luck!
