I've just been told by a friend about Philosophy and have had a look on their website. To my very unkowledgeable eyes, they look good - but lots of products can sound good!
Seems like a good idea to have a vit c powder that you can just mix in with a bit of your moisturiser every day. But will it be in an absorbable form then, at an effective concentration?
Their Hope and a Prayer pm capsules with retinol also sound interesting, but there is no mention of concentrations - then again, what is a useful concentration
The more I start to check out, the more confused I get
Can anybody enlighten me please? |

Hi shivvie, Rzecka has some of the philosophy products so she will be able to tell you more. Poor Karolina has tonsilitis at the moment so it may be a few days before shes back on line properly. In the meantime, have you looked on QVCUK.com, they have the Philosophy range and they also have a no quibble 30 days money back guarantee so you can try and if they dont suit you you can send them back. |

There are some mixed reviews on the make up alley website. The advice there is pretty helpful. |

i tried the vit C powder and it made me break out (combo to oily skin) If you use too much, it can cause your skin to sting a lot too. So far I've not been that impressed with philosophy. they have nice quotes but after trying some of their stuffs (overpriced IMO since they did little to see any good sides), it's not my thing except for the kiss, kiss, kiss lips balm. I don't like the scent of many of their products too. the best would be to have testers esp. if you live next to a sephora where you can get samples. |

I just got samples of the Microdelivery peel. Haven't tried them yet, but the peel gets rave reviews on MUA. The C powder is apparently not a good formulation because it contains copper with Vit. C and they should not be combined. |

Hi Shivvie! Yes, my bathroom counter does look like a Philosophy stand but funnily enough I do not have the one product you were asking about - the Hope and a Prayer pm capsules with retinol
But I do have:
Purity cleanser
The Great Mystery
The Greatest Love
Hope and a Prayer Powder
Hope in a Jar
Eye Believe
I also have a stash of their body products too
I can talk for hours about these products, but I won't bore you just in case you are not interested in any of the above. Ask away if you are though!
In any case, Cindi is completely right. If you do decide to try it out, please get it from QVC so you will be able to get your money back if you don't like it. |
