Hi, guys. Only joined this forum now, but have been reading for a really long time. I'm 25 years old, male, and my skin is pretty good, never suffered spots - however I have some bad ice pick scars on my nose - of all places, honestly I wouldn't care if I had them anywhere else! I got these from blackheads.
Until now, I've been using copper peptides on and off (superCP), but generally my regime would be cleanser in the am, with moisturizer (infrequently SuperCP before), and lactic/salicylic 10% combo for exfol in evening.
Tired now of seeing these damn pits in the mirror, so I really want to get rid of them! Here's a new regime I've drawn up (I have the items), but I'd really appreciate advice on it.
AM:
Witch Hazel Cleanser
Glycolic Toner
CP Serum
Moisturizer
PM:
Witch Hazel Cleanser
Saliclyic 5% exfol
Vit C (after 30 mins)
How does that work? I've looked into it and it would seem that they'll all work together OK, but just in case I'm missing anything?
The only think I'm unsure of is the SuperCP/SuperCOPx2, I have both, but I've read so much stuff about it worsening skin....so I think I'll only use SuperCP every 2nd day. I literally only use one drop on my nose, one on my forehead and one under each eye area, though I'm thinking I might be overdoing it on the eyes...have noticed recently that I'm developing fine lines under eyes, and not sure if its natural or result of overdoing CP's (even though I don't use it that often!).
I've also ordered 30, 40 and 50% Glycolic acid, and 15/20% Salicyclic. The plan there is 1x by 30% Glycolic a week or every 10 days, move onto the 40% once that's done, then 50%, then start doing 50 glycolic/15 salicyclic combination peels, and so on. Basically, climbing the peel ladder slowly. Also using a 1.8mm needle on the individual pit scars once a month or so.
Thanks for reading guys! |

A few questions for you....
No Vit A? A and C are really the foundation of a strong skincare regimen.
If your skin is pretty good why are you so focused on the peels/acids? To remove the scars on your nose?
And what do you hope to accomplish with the CP's? |

Hi Bethany,
Thanks so much for replying! This is why I needed advice, I wasn't even aware of VitA in this context - how is that applied, like VitC serum? And when is the best time to apply it, same time as Vitc? Don't want to mess up by applying things that will neutralize each other!
As for the CPs, yes, I was hoping it'd help push out damage on my nose but to be honest I remain skeptical of copper peptides. I was also hoping that with using CPs and needling once a month, it would help rebuild. My skin is generally fine indeed, but just my nose is moderately scarred and has a bad texture to boot - kinda wrinkly? Particularly bad under certain lighting, wrinkly, uneven and rough. Been using Lacsal for 6 months now and it hasn't changed one bit, hence the peels which I'm hoping will improve texture over time, and may help with pit scars down the line when I move onto stronger peels gradually. I've used a .5mm roller on my nose and it made zero difference over several rolls spaced a few weeks apart, I know deeper needles are required for rebuilding but I don't want to use deep needles all over my nose because it's not a reliable place to use deeper rollers!
Still feel like I might feel better if I ditched the CPs, worried about the whole
'uglies' thing.
Thanks again for replying! |

Hi,
I would have to agree with Bethany. I was also surprised that you didn't have Vitamin A included in your regimen.
You obviously have a good idea about what you want to achieve. Although, I would advice taking it easy around the eye area. This skin around that area, as you might already know, is sensitive.
And if you are going to use VitA products, you should invest in a good sunscreen product as well. |

Definitely incorporate sunscreen into your AM routine. No mention of it in your list so i'm assuming you're not using one. Daily protection is very important, even if you're just out running errands on a cloudy day. UV rays can always reach you! Try getting a moisturizer with SPF of at least 15 (I use PCA Skin Protecting Hydrator, its got SPF 25 and is really hydrating!)
Like someone else mentioned, if you're going to use a Vitamin A derivative it's VERY important to use a strong sunscreen as well, as the VitA makes you very sun-sensitive. |
