Hi all,
I'm 37, fair skinned and my skin is also sensitive, acne prone and combo.
Over the summer I was using retinol and glycolic acid alternate nights. I worked my way up in strength to where I was using Neostrata Level 3 smoothing lotion and Roc Multicorrexion serum. Daytime I'd use Olay Regenerist Regenerating serum followed by an Olay Moisturizer and SS. My skin looked great! No breakouts, my normally pale dull complexion was glowing and my skin looked smooth and healthy. Suddenly when the weather changed so did my skin! Now I look pale, my pimples have returned and my lines and pores are VERY prominent!! Ugggh. I'm so frustrated especially because I can't figure out why the drastic change from so good to so bad all in a months time.
I've now changed my regimen hoping that'll help. I'm not using glycolic acid anymore and instead of Roc at night, I'm using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle. It has retinol but not as strong as Roc's. During the day I switched from Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily scrub cleanser to Neutrogena Foaming Face wash. (Again gentler on my skin) I follow that with Neutrogena Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 hydrating treatment on my pimples (which are mainly on my chin/mouth area..but my pores everywhere look bigger) and that seems to be helping get rid of the zits. I'm still using the Olay regenerist Regenerating serum and SS.
I cannot figure out why my skin would change like that so quickly! I'm praying this new regimen will help. I think it's going ok so far. My skin feels "calmer" and the zits are going away slowly but I'm still dealing with prominent lines and big pores Anyone else ever have this happen out of the blue? I'm feeling pretty depressed about it. I spent a lot of time (and money) taking such good care of my skin all summer and it looked great and then I suddenly have this happen. Any advice/insights would be soooo appreciated! TIA! |

My skin always changes with the weather. It will literally dry up overnight when the humidity decreases. |
