Product blurb - 'A rich and creamy facial scrub to gently exfoliate and refine the texture of the skin. Exfoliating beads lift dead skin cells and absorb impurities, Menthol cools the skin, while Aloe Vera and Glycerine soothe and moisturise. Your skin will be left feeling revived, soft and radiant.'
I was given this facial scrub as part of my trial for the Beauty Bible. I’m not a fan of facial scrubs. I prefer to use enzyme exfoliators (Dermalogica Microfoliant, Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel etc) as they don’t use little scrubbing particles to get rid of the dead skin cells and therefore you are less likely to tear at your skin. I did like the menthol cooling, tingling sensation that this product delivered though and it would be lovely to use in the warmer weather (we should be so lucky in the UK!) as the cooling sensation lasted for a short time after using the product.
The texture was quite creamy and so it did leave my skin feeling soft after use but not enough to skip using my usual moisturiser. The fragrance was a light, menthol one.
I felt that I had to be quite gentle with this product otherwise it could be quite scratchy. If it just used the spherical beads to exfoliate then that would have been fine, but there was something else in it that looked and felt like salt and I didn't like the way it felt on my skin.
Overall, it did the job it was designed to do - removed the flaky, dry skin and it left it soft and smooth. However, I prefer to use a more gentle product and so will stick with the enzyme exfoliators for now. |
