I'm an Asian male. I'm 26 and really depressed right now. Back when i was younger, i had acne but that cleared up due to me eating non junk food and using face products. My acne then was pretty bad... it was moderate-severe. I even had lot of acne red marks and brown marks but it went away due to Aqua glycolic facial cleanser and alpha hydrox souffle 12 percent that i used. So my face was clear of acne and had very little red marks and brown marks.

The last few months i have been very stressed out. I as a result have acne that came back but that does go away. My problem is these red and brown marks that stay right after the pimple goes away. The thing is these marks are very nasty and they take a long time to go away.
I also have Asian skin so that means marks stay even longer.

I have been using the same 2 products of aqua glycolic cleanser and the aha souffle and it doesn't seem to work anymore. My face looks very very bad right now. I dont want to try any more products as i tried so many before i found out the 2 products that worked for me and now they dont seem to work much anymore. I really want to do a chemical peel as my face is horrible now.

I have some questions.

1. Should i do a chemical peel at a dermatologist or at home? At home its much cheaper but i have to do it myself and there is risk of doing it wrong. I read ppl say they saved lot of money doing it at home as oppose to at the doctor. Money isn't a big deal at all. I assume go to dermatologist? I also dont have insurance so i will be paying. But the thing is i dont want to see a dermatolgoist and he recommend me a cream. I want to go and get a peel ASAP. Is that possible?

2. Im from nyc. Does anyone have any recommendations of which place to go?

3. Would a dermatologist do a TCA peel on me on the same day? I never done a glycolic peel before but i do put glycolic acid on my face everyday 2x a day. I dont care if my face looks like crap for 2-3 weeks. I see some pictures online of those women who do TCA peel and post picture on how their face look from day 1 to day 10 etc. Their face look really bad and frosting in the first 7 days or so and then it gets a lot better. I dont mind my face looking horrible before it gets better but in general... is it like that for anyone? Is there any big risk such as your face scarring real bad after a peel a few weeks after it?

4. How long in general does it take to see results? I see some reviews where ppl said they saw results immediately after getting a peel from a dermatologist. Is this bs? I also see how ppl mention they need quite a few number of peels to see results and i see stuff like these places do 6 glycolic peels for $995. So that means you wont see much improvement until like the 3rd or 4th peel? What about the TCA peel? How often is that done? I read glycolic peel are done once every 4-6 weeks but i assume TCA peels aren't? The thign is i dont want a dermatologist to just give me a light peel as it would be a waste of my time. I really want the strongest thing possible. Is that a bad idea?

5. Has anyone done a peel before at a place and it ruined their face? The thing that im worried about is my face turn really bad and have even more red marks and brown marks that i would might even say to myself... i regretted getting a chemical peel.

Also wanted to ask one more question.

6. Does anyone know if a dermatologist would do a tca or glycolic peel but only do it like only on those PROBLEM SPOTS? Meaning they only spot treat? The reason i ask this is because for example, some parts of my face dont have red marks... so if they do a peel on it... then the clear skin would then erupt and cause more red marks?
