Hi,
First off, my eyes are set back, and when my eye is open, where the eyeliner is, is touching the upper lid.....So, it's very hard to wear any eyeshadow because it creases, and most eyeliners, end up on my upper lids!....
I prefer the look of pencils, a matte finish. I don't like shiny liquid. I've read good and a few bad about the staying power of Chanel, Any recs for Eyeliner that stays?...the Lancome pencils last about a second...
Thanks much |

I use the Pola Dorf Transformer with their Cake Eyeshadow. It does not give me any racoon eyes even when I ran a half marathon on a hot day. It is also very easy to remove with any facial cleanser.
Unfortunately, EDS does not sell Pola Dorf. |

I have hooded eyes and eyeliner and mascara that last and don't leave raccoon eyes are my biggest struggle. I first use Urban Decay Primer and then either Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil or Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes Pencil. Both brands have matte or shimmer finish pencils. Have to let dry at least 30 seconds for the liners to set and using multiple layers will increase the staying power and lasting time.
Also, if you have oily eyelids, powder lightly before using pencils (I just pat on some neutral color eyeshadow). Be sure not to use too oily of an eye cream at your lash line.
Hope that helps! |

I know that I would be rushing and Not put primer on....I can let the liner set for awhile...frustrating, I see these great shadows and by the end of the day people are looking at me funny...do I look good?...I look in the mirror and the eyeshadow is a big crease and the eyeliner is no longer lining my lashes...
I think I'll go into Sephora and try.. |

I would recommend permanent makeup. If you need to wear makeup every day, or just like to, this will solve your problem.
The trick is finding a good technician, but you can ask around in your community. I asked at my PS office and while they would not actually recommend anyone, they did say a certain person had never given bad makeup.
This is also a good solution for folks like me who are allergic to many common makeup ingredients. I do believe that although the process is traumatizing (it is tattooing) thereafter you will not be messing with you lids, pulling the skin and cleaning it to get makeup off.
I go for a pretty natural look, then when I want to glam it up it is easy to add tails.
BTW it is not really PERMANENT, you will need to get touchups every year or two, but that is usually at a greatly reduced cost. |

I like the L'Oreal Lacquer liner. It is a gel and it comes in a little jar, so you use a brush to apply it. The brush comes with it and is very good. Sometimes I don't have time to wash my face before my workouts and this liner stays in place and doesn't run down all over my cheeks.
I use the color Dark Slate. |

I got permanent eyeliner before...It was soooo painful. It felt like steel wool being rubbed on your eyelid. I did not come back for the free retouch. |

I just bought the Maybelline Master Drama to replace my Lancome pencil which I had to sharpen and which kept breaking off. This is twist up and cheaper.
Don't use moisturizer on your lids. I use Lancome's Effacernes waterproof concealer on my lids as a matte, non oily primer to mask the redness. The liner clings to it. Then I go over it with the same color eyeshadow to set it. It won't budge all day.
You also could get Ulta's Skinny marker eyeliner pen and draw dots and dashes among your eyelids so it looks like your eyelashes are thicker. I do all of the above. I seldom wear mascara because my lashes are long and it comes off on my upper lid by the brow bone since my eyes are deep set. |

Happy Holidays, All! Brand new here (today) ..saw this post and just wanted comment on perm make-up...specifically, eyeliner. I had this procedure done, as well, and couldn't agree more. It's painful (akin to getting a tat in a sensitive area). I also did not go back for my "free touch-up" and refused offers of "free lip treatments" designed to entice me back into the torture chair! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Thanks Snowfairy! By the way, is this easy to remove? I will definitely give this a try. I like that I can get this at CVS or walgreens. I like to use inexpensive stuff when it comes to makeup and spend a fortune on skin care items

You know, I never really paid attention to how easily it comes off, so I did a little test for you tonight.
On days when I don't wear makeup I use the OCM, but on days when I do wear makeup I use a cleanser by Olay in a blue pump bottle - it's a foaming face wash for sensitive skin (although my skin is not sensitive). I don't use any special makeup or eye makeup remover.
So, here's what I did:
First I splashed my face with warm water several times. The eyeliner had not budged. Then I put a wet warm washcloth over my face for a little bit and gently wiped it over my face and eyes. The eyeliner was still there. Then I splashed my face with some more warm water and applied the cleanser. First I rubbed it around my nose, chin, cheeks, forehead and finally around my eyes (top lids, bottom lids, right over my lash-line and in the corners of my eyes). I rinsed well and dried my face. The eyeliner from my top lash-line was completely removed. I still had a bit of eyeliner left on my bottom lash-line right in-between the eyelashes. It wasn't under my lashes on my skin - just in-between the lashes. I will pay attention to it in the morning and see if slid down my skin or if it stayed in-between my lashed. To tell you truth I kind of like this look
Here is another thing if you haven't tried already from the drugstore - it is a lipliner by Prestige Cosmetics. The color Rosewood is the loveliest color I have ever found for my warm medium complexion. I just apply a little bit of lip balm to my lips and then rub it off. Then I apply the lipliner all over my lips and I don't use any lipstick. This color looks perfectly natural on me (just a tiny bit darker than my own lipcolor). It stays on during normal water/coffee/tea drinking. Only comes off when you eat something with oil in it (salad dressing and stuff like that). You might want to take a look at it and see what you think. |

I really like Physician Formula eye liner with lash serum. (I don't know if the lash serum really works as I use lash treatment).
Thin brush and easy to apply. Stays on till I take it of at night. I have oily lids.
I also have ordered NYX Studio liner. Waiting for this in the mail. |
