OK so I understand that most women have some degree of cellulite. But mine is terrible - all over my bottom and the backs of my thighs.
It started at about age 13 when I was skinny as a beanpole, and has got gradually worse. My bottom is like a big saggy sponge - and I'm still young!
I've tried exercise and diet, and recently lost a stone of weight despite being at a healthy BMI, just to see if it would help - of course it didn't!
Squats and lunges with weights have helped tone my legs, but the dreaded dimples remain just as prominent, if not more so.
I have half-heartedly tried lotions and body brushing, but have never really stuck at it for long enough.
BUT since having found this forum and read up as much as I can about cellulite on here, I have felt inspired and have decided to launch a fresh assault!
From the information here this will be my (hopefully) cellulite-busting routine:
Cupping twice per day
Body brushing twice per day
Knuckle massage twice per day
LOADS of water
Iodine supplements daily.
I've started the cupping already and am surprised at how much it actually hurts the cellulite areas. The knuckle massage I do right after, and that hurts too - I hope this means it's doing something!
I tried the GUAM seaweed wrap for the first time last night. It really burns at first, again I hope this means it is having some sort of effect.
Is there anything else I can add to this? More supplements perhaps?
For those who are already cupping for cellulite, does it hurt you? |

Hi keiko123,
First of all, welcome to the forum. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than i am will answer, but looks like everybody is too busy with shopping
Well, it's this time of the year ...
Anyway, i am sure we can fight cellulite, but it is important to do it both from inside and outside at the same time. Personally, i see great improvement if i remove from my diet completely bread, pasta and things like that, replacing it with more greens. Daily green smoothie is the best!
Also, looking at your list of daily procedures, don't you afraid to overdo it? Anything that cause you pain is damaging your tissues. That means you need some time for recovery and it should be longer than half a day. I would say 2-3 days at least. Besides it is a lot easier to follow the procedure if it doesn't take too much time every day.
I didn't try yet seaweed wrap, i but i did try clay detox wrap. I always do it before summer vacation now. It works for a week or two only, but it really makes you feel like you finally won this battle:) And the best thing - it doesn't give you any unpleasant sensations. You keep it for an hour and enjoy the results for a week.
From other routines on your list i am using body brushing few times a week and knuckle massage few times a week. I know doing it daily will give me better results, but i am just too lazy. But even few times a week make a lot of difference.
Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your reply, I was starting to wonder where I was going wrong
What's the clay wrap you use? Would love to try it! I need to do another couple of sessions with the seaweed wrap.
I understand what you're saying about damaging tissues, so I've dropped down to just once per day on the cupping and massage.
The good news is that I'm sure I can already see an improvement in my cellulite - and I haven't even started with the iodine supplements yet (still waiting for the postman to arrive!) Think I will add some collagen supplements in there too.
I think next in my arsenal I'd like to add some sort of ultrasound technology like they have in the salons. I've read about some on here, just trying to sift through all the info.
I would love to know from others who are doing the cupping, whether they find it painful on the cellulite areas?
If I do it say, on my tummy, it doesn't hurt at all, even with a strong suction. But front and back of thighs is quite uncomfortable.
To happy to see some slight improvement. It really saps my confidence and I had all but given up really. |

For me, l-carnitine+alpha lipoic acid supplements seem to be helping it (along with helping several other issues that were bothering me. Yay!) I deep massage but I don't cup. I think it is more a mental thing with the massage, as there was minimal improvement since I started doing it daily. This one is going to sound cliche, but I swear topical caffeine is helping too.
I'm glad everyone seems to be having luck with their routines so far. I have to admit that I had never heard of iodine supplementation for cellulite. I'll have to look into that. |

U-u-uh! Thanks Chlorophyll, you just reminded me.
Another thing i do every other week is to apply fresh ground coffee mixed with oil (olive or coconut) all other my body.
It works like kind of a moisturizing scrub. I do it inside of my shower tub before i take the shower, so it is not messy at all. I slowly work on all parts of my body including my foot and hands.
But, of course, i start from belly down to give it a little more time with caffeine. |

Thanks for the replies, I am definitely going to invest in the clay mask as you say it is working so well YB.

Thanks for the link to that site Toby, lots of good info there. I always feel I could be doing more, but it's hard to get everything in. |

Have you looked into rebounding? i.e. jumping on a mini-trampoline? apparently it's the best thing for lymphatic movement... I can't say I've done it enough to report on the effects, but I am looking into buying one, as it can't hurt! |

Hi - I have heard of this. Apparently it's amazing exercise as your body is constantly undergoing acceleration then deceleration as you jump up and down, which is good for some reason...can't remember why!
I've been doing some vibration training which I think is also helping. Still no massive improvement, but I'm not giving up!
I want to try some sort of high tech approach. I've heard of the Tripollar POSE and a few others. So much information on this forum that my head starts to spin with it all... |

I've heard that foam rollers may help with cellulite by promoting the circulation, so I got one. I've started rolling just recently, so I can't attest just yet if they really help or not, but it surely hurts a lot! And some women on the web stated that you need to use them for about 20 mins everyday to get some results what is far more that I can handle... |

Along those same lines, I've found bikram yoga (for me) to be the best solution to getting rid of cellulite. It removes toxins from the body via sweat and boosts circulation and lymphatic movement. Tried the topical, brushing, kneading routes, and this is the only one that finally worked. Now I have smooth thighs and a smaller waist. |

I have been practicing hot yoga for about a year now. I have also seen some improvements. I am also trying daily inversions (2 X twice a day for 20 minutes) to get the lymph flow going. I read that from the link that Toby posted (thanks!). I am also trying dry brushing. 10 days in and I am starting to see a slight difference. |

I got an email today about a new product to help cellulite.
It's DermaDoctor's Shrinking Beauty cream. Here's the Quick Overview from the website:
"This vegan formulation smoothes, firms, tones & improves the appearance of cellulite. Leaves skin sleek contoured and dimple free. Clinically proven to lose up to an inch within 2 weeks of use."
http://www.dermadoctor.com/shrinking-beauty.html?
The claim to lose "up to" an inch is interesting. What do you think? |

In my opinion, there is no cream/lotion out in the market that can shrink cellulites. This is only a marketing hype to generate profits... However, you can improve on the problem areas, by healthy eating, regular exercises and healthy lifestyle will keep cellulites to a minimum.... It is a lifelong commitment that you have to do to keep it under control.... |

That is true, but some creams can tighten skin temporarily which does help diminish the appearance of cellulite. They can also shrink the body temporarily (sort of like how a body wrap does). I do that every now and then by applying Preparation H to the thigh and stomach area for a quick fix for a special occasion. It does work but it comes right back, as it all does! |

Here is a concise summary of the things I've tried- and I'm assuming that you are at your ideal weight and are fit.
Guam mud- Yes, but too much of a pain to do consistently. $$
Itworks Wraps- No. $$
Diet- No. $
Exercise- No, with exception of rebounding. $
Hot yoga- Yes, if you can handle it. $
Microcurrent- BIG yes, if you have unlimited funding to keep it up. $$$$
Nivea patches- No. $
Nivea cream- No. $
Bliss Fat Girl Slim- No. $
Murad- No. $$
NOTCH fat burner- No. But makes stomach super ridiculously trim so its still a great product. $
Lymacream- Yes, but painfull to apply and results too temporary to justify. $
Dermarolling- No. This may have been the worst thing I've done for cellulite, no joke. $
Cupping- Not sure.... far too painful to continue. $
Rolling- No. $$
Endermologie- No. $$$
Retin A- No. $$
Tripollar Pose- No. Although it is fabulous for stomachs, don't rule this handy device out for other things. $$$
G-Form- No. But works great for toning stomachs. $$$
Carol Maggio No Lipo Lipo- No. $$
Dry brushing- No. Never saw improvements. $
In summary, the only things I have found to reasonably work are hot yoga, rebounding, guam mud, and microcurrent. Microcurrent is far too expensive to keep up, and all results temporary if not worked on. |

I also appreciate this list and have had similar response to most except two....the Pose has lessened the cellulite if I keep it up. Also I bought a used Wellbox and it has worked well IF I keep it up....the problem it requires a lot of time. I have the Pico toner which is microcurrent and it has a strong current for the body so I will really do some work on my thighs with it and see what happens. I am a happy camper with the face results so here goes the trial for the body. |

Just goes to show how different we all are
I should have mentioned that the pose is excellent for stubborn fat pockets on thighs- give it a try for cellulite because I know Toby has had success with it, but if it doesn't work don't count it out- try for localized fat deposits before giving up. It's really a great tool, I just don't want people to give up on it if it doesn't do anything for cellulite. |

Oooh I am jealous you have a wellbox- I have wanted this for so very long. How are you liking the pico for body toning and cellulite? I have been doing salon micro current and due to some lifestyle changes I can no longer afford to keep it up. |
