I read a rumour on another forum that Sephora are pulling out of the UK.
Also, Kanebo and Helena Rubinstein are supposedly closing down all their franchises in the UK. Kanebo will only be available from Harrods.
The Kanebo and Rubinstein/Rubenstein thing doesn't bother me but it's sad that Sephora are going. (If it's true).
I wonder if they will finally get the Sephora UK website up and running so that we can order online or whether the whole website idea will be shelved too. |

Sephora pulling out is absolutely not true! Where did you hear that?! Indeed they are going to be opening more and more stores globally. |

This was in a UK newspaper:
'Sephora, the perfume chain owned by LVMH, is closing down in the UK. Property sources say that the chain’s 10 shops have been put on the market. It is believed that the French luxury group has been trying to sell the chain as a going concern, but the stores are now likely to be sold piecemeal.' |

yowzah .... I stand corrected! I am sorry Toe. Strangely enough I read today that they are also closing in Japan. But also opened up in Milan [their first in Italy] and more stores in Spain this week. That really, really surprises me as the UK is such a savvy skin care/cosmetics market! |

I think that Ebay and online shopping has maybe affected over the counter sales for a lot of brands.
A big chain of department stores in the UK, Allders, is closing down too. That's where I usually go to get my skincare samples. |

I hope they don't shut down Sephora, i like that shop although i don't go to Southapton very often but i still really like the shop,it's the best place to get perfume.
I've never heard of the other shops so that doesn't really bother me if they do get rid of them.
Hopefully they will set up the website if they do get rid of UK Sephoras so we can still get the stuff but its more fun trying first! |
