Does anyone have a good referral for microcurrent facelift with the Beautiful Image machine? San Diego or North county area.....Also do you tip when having a microcurrent treatment?I have tipped hairdressers like 30% but not for laser treatment, if they are charging thousands I dont see a need to tip.I did see one lady who had a coupon for microcurrent for a 100 but said you had to pay a 20 tip before the treatment... |

What is considered the norm?I always tip at hair salons when I get my hair done, minimum 25%. I am not sure about spa services.I never tipped when I was paying for very expensive IPL treatments(which did not help). |

I have never heard of tipping for spa services. It is very inappropriate to tell a potential client that she has to tip a certain percentage to have the procedure. Those people make plenty of money without that. Hair dressers are different. Their on their feet all day and they have to pay like 250 a week just to rent out their station plus all the products they use. |

I did see a coupon on the internet for a microcurrent treatment but it said a 20 tip was due upfront before the treatment, kinda turned me off. |

Have you checked Yelp, lucyluc? There's a place actually called San Diego Microcurrent in University Heights ... no personal experience here, just sayin!
As for the tipping ... ugh!
I was always told, as far as hair stylists, aestheticians, etc, that you tip all but the owners of the business. But in the past few years it seems that even the owners seem to expect tips. That's weird, given their business model. The owners really shouldn't be tipped -- the people who rent booths, should. I think that's kind of IRS protocol, isn't it??
As for medical practitioners ... I would never dream of tipping my dental hygienist. I would think some of the medical spa places would be the same ??? Laser, chemical peel, etc.... doesn't seem to me the type of business model where you would tip --- but I really don't know.
It's all become so murky... |

it seems its expected so if you spend 125 for a facial, I geuss you add a 30 tip, which kinda makes it not too affordable.... |
