Hi Mert,
Sorry for the delay in replying to your question, I was out on vacation for 2 weeks and your message moved down and out of immediate visual sight due to other posts that are coming in fast and furious.
I have the cream, fluid and stick (for eyes and lips). The cream is a little thicker than the fluid and is meant for the face area.
However, I found that I could get away with using the fluid on my face. A little more effort is necessary to rub the product into the skin. I found that if I put too much on (the cream), the stuff tends to ball up on me so I wear it alone without any makeup over it. I wear the cream on the face when I'm on vacation or out on a very hot and or sunny day.
My friends have "borrowed" some of the fluid from me when they were caught outside without protection. It does not leave a white ashy coating on my African American friend's very dark complexion.
The stick works for me, because I can place some on my brow bone and upper eye lid. It stays put and doesn't run into my eyes. I also have to remember not to lick my lips (I know, very bad habit).
Hope this helps. |

Hi Mert and WhiteLotus,
I also bought this fluid today, will try it tomorrow. It's a bit pricy though, USD$40 for 30ml (in a tube), but under the light, I can see the tube is only about 65% filled...
Will report back, and let's see if it's all worth it.

There is NO WAY I would repurchase this, so oily and shiny, don't care about shininess since I can always use powder to mattify it, but the oiliness I will NEVER feel comfortable wearing it as an everyday sunblock. It also make my pores seem bigger with the layer of oil sitting on top. A little hard to spread around too.
No white cast and no sunscreen smell though, which I like.
I wouldn't be surprised if daily use will break me out....
I have combo/normal skin.

Hi Diderot:
I have the same feeling as you with wearing this stuff in daily basis -: it is so shiny and oily and I do not feel good about my self when I use this product. But I don't know what kind of sunblock I should move onto that is so high in spf and dont leave any white cast on my face. I think I will return to my good old friend Sage SPF25.
Diderot, what are you using at the moment? |

Hi Mert,
I immediately washed my face after I typed my last post, can't even bear the oily feeling for even 15 mins, that's BAD !
I use Darphin vitaprotection SPF15 (only 15 but feels comfortable and no white cast) and Darphin SPF25 for face and body (not oily on face, some white tint but totally bearable). Darphin is ok since I love the smell, but I have NO IDEA how stable are their sunscreen. I asked for Skinceuticals Ultimate Defense 30 sample from EDS, will see.
From my experience, I tend to like ALMOST all japanese made sunscreen, but I am trying to find something natural, even though I also have doubts if chemical sunscreen is always more effective than natural ones ???? Especially the Organic ones, I don't know how reliable are they....
I also use Menard's Day SPF38 when the sun is strong out there.
Sage ?? from natural store ?

I'll tell you the best sunscreen that I know of. It's La Roche Posay's Anthelois (60SPF+ Cream). It's not too oily or creamy. Just don't put A LOT on at one time because it is white and it takes a few rubs to soak in.
(my mom's a dermatologist and that's the best thing I've come across ) |

Hi!
I have just got the SPF 100, I bought the milk version which seems to go on quite matt, the other High SPF I'd totally recommend is Fallene Total Block Clear SPF 65 (from Dermadoctor) it is great as a make up base as doesn't shine even over moisturiser.
I'm REALLY sun sensitive and both stop me burning. |

Rzecka,
Sadly yes - even in the shade and even with a SPF 30 applied every 2 hours!!! I have been known to burn even on an overcast day I am REALLY fair! I haven't burnt in winter here but did when I lived in germany as a kid when it was very cold and crisp! Summer is a nightmare of sunblock hats and a continual quest for the shade as I also get sun stroke a lot - not to mention the continual teasing about my paleness!!! Its such a shame as I get mild S.A.D so feel so much better come spring but then I have to hide away most of the day when everyone else is out playing. A simple ride on my horse becomes a pallaver what with applying sunscreed and making sure every inch of bare skin is covered!!! |

Bloody hell! And to think I thought *I* was pale! Wow. Sounds like a huge bummer Is your fairness inherited? My dad has got olive skin and I am SO jealous. Life's just not fair ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/rolleyes.gif) |

My great grandparents on both sides where red haired types with pale skin, my mum is reasonably fair but tans as do my two sisters and my dad is dark haired and olive skinned. I'm a throw back!!! It's a huge bummer, but not so bad now - when I was a kid you could only get Soltan cream - didn't even have an SPF on it but apparently it was a 4! So I spent my early years in cotton jackets made by my gran, a hat and sat under a tree! (and I still burnt a bit!). At least my mum realised the danger and I only remember burning badly once when I decided to go out in a bikini top when I was 9, like all my friends, without my mum knowing and got horribly burnt, which is why I'm so paranoid now. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

OKAY, this LaRoche is shiny too but doesn't give me that "ready-to-be-deep-fried" oiliness. Looking at the TECHNICAL spec on the box (most of them I do't understand, like IPD, PPD) SOUNDS like it provides full spectrum protection. No white cast, little sunscreen smell. Will definitely use it when the sun shows the "I care less about your skin" kinda attitude.
Not sure if I will use it everyday though...

When I was in Paris, I also bought some La Roche Posay Anthelios 65 - although I do not like sunblock textures on my skin - this isn't as oily as others I have tried. Sunblock I'd rather do without - but unfortunately I have to use it. I just use extra powder when I apply it. |

I had the same experience with this sunscreen. My face was just an oil slick, I didn't even attempt to put on makeup, I just washed it off and started again.
I have been using Shiseido's SPF 33 suncreen daily for the past year or so. (I can't think of the exact name right now) It is one of the best I have used. It has a very light, lotion like texture and doesn't leave me shiny or cause excess oiliness during the day. |

I have used a real light and non-sticky one, which is Neutrogena dry touch spf45, goes on like you have none on. But I heard it's not stable. So my question is do all the good stable ones have to be oilier in order for it to work ???

I'll second the shiseido sunscreen recommendation. I believe it is called Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion. They also have a stick sunscreen that is really nice. |
