It's my birthday on Saturday so I'm getting treated by my mother, but I need to know which of these options is best first.
About me: Fair/Light skin, Combination oily/dry (more oily), NATURAL purple dark circles that I was born with. I have better luck with thicker concealers/stick concealers for under my eyes traditionally since they're SO dark, but am open.
CHOICES:
Laura Mercier Secret Concealer
Laura Mercier Combination Pot (I used this before quite a while ago and think I liked it, but don't remember being in love with it. It was a WHILE ago, though)
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage (Used this YEARS ago and think I loved it, but it was seriously 8+ years ago... my skin has changed + there might be better choices out there now)
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit
Bobbi Brown Corrector
LANCÔME EFFACERNES - Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer
YVES SAINT LAURENT ANTI-CERNES - Multi-Action Concealer
MIRACLE SKIN TRANSFORMER Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal Eye & Face
SMASHBOX Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer
Out of those, which have you had luck with? As a bonus, is there another not on the list you think would work for me?
BONUS BONUS: Best eye concealer brush, and best concealer for BLEMISHES.
Thank you guys so much! |

I have found the best combination for me with circles is to camoflauge with a peach shade then cover with a concealer that matches my skin tone. I'm a big Laura Mercier fan so I would have those color matched and see how you like them. |

I think the best under-eye concealer for anyone over 40 is Lauren Hutton (from her Face Disc). It goes on light, so doesn't emphasise any creases - but coverage is nevertheless full.
Another tip: As a dedicated user of Easy Eye Solutions Eye Tuck, I find I don't even really need concealer as the tuck has a "lightening" effect. |

I use the Lancome Effacernes first, then go over it with Maybelline -- not sure what it's called -- comes in a twist tube with a brush on the end. It is light reflecting and somewhat sheer. The Effacernes is matte and harsh on its own. |

When I used to have dark circles I used Amazing Cosmetics concealer, it really is amazing.
Never could get a great match with the Laura Mercier concealer, which is strange because I use the rest of their products with great success. |

Hi ellaelise- you may want to check out this link for gelatin for dark circles. It may or may not work for you but it is pretty cheap to try. Good luck and welcome to EDS.

I'm perhaps too late to the game, but I have to say that NONE of the concealers hold a candle even remotely to By Terry's Light Expert.
Seriously, it covers dark circles better than anything else on the planet. AND you could get a half centimeter away from your eyes and not detect that you are wearing ANYTHING under your eyes. It looks just like your skin. It really is what they call a "miracle product."
I used to work in the beauty industry and have all of the concealers you mention in your post, and none of them can touch the perfection that is By Terry's Light Expert.
The concealer is blendable and buildable, so even though it goes on rather thin, you can build up layers to cover circles. And it doesn't dry out your skin or pool in creases at all.
Seriously, RUN to go get it, you will not be disappointed.
I even have acquaintances who thank me after years of me introducing them to this product, telling me that they don't know where they would be at all without it.

Avalange - Thanks for your opinion. I know you have a strong background. When you say By Terry Light Expert - Is this concealor or foundation? It seems to be a difficult product to locate.
Thanks.

Hi sister!
It's funny, over at MUA, they are using it as a foundation. That makes it expensive, annoying to apply, and it won't last long if you use it for full coverage. Everyone I know uses it as a natural, buildable concealer. It is true that it goes on rather light, but I have a very dark circle in the corner of just one eye, and two applications cover it completely.
If I have time I'll take some pics to show everyone.
Used as a concealer, it lasts years, isn't too expensive for the amount you get, and the brush makes a lot more sense.
I hope that helps!

avalange- which color would you recommend for me? I have fair/light skin with pink undertones. My dark circles are natural (meaning I've always had them), purple/blue in color. Thank you so much! |

The gelatin recipe works amazingly well for me (not that I have much of a problem with dark circles), and the peach color corrector has been truly impressive any of my past skin discolorations.
I'm happy you posted to that particular gelatin link where the error was discovered and corrected. The original error had been posted all over the internet!

I was in Sephora recently and tried the Amazing concealer by Amazing cosmetics. I have quite dark circles but this really helped. I have also tried the Bobby Brown concealer which is also good. But the Amazing concealer is great. It is not cheap though and the tube is very small. But a little goes a long way. |

Hi beauties,
To use any cosmetic product for an under eye care may not be promising.I believe to use natural resource is a boon in this chemical age.
Aloe Vera's Thick Gel is a modern product of cosmetology which is made on the basis of the natural components and it does not have analogs by the efficiency and safety. Its anti aging agent also helps to prevent wrinkles. With regular application of aloe vera the anti-aging agents tightens and lightens the wrinkle on the face.
It helps to a great extent to remove saagy under eye bags and lightens the dark circles. |

CookieD- My apologies!! I somehow completely missed your post- I wasn't ignoring you, I swear! Thank you
sunita- I get what you're saying, but I'm 29 and fortunately, no wrinkles as of now What I DO have (and have ALWAYS had, was born with them!) is natural very dark circles under my eyes. Like I said, I've always had them, as does my brother and his niece! The only thing that's going to make these puppies go away forever is some filler. I've always had success with concealers for them in the past, but wanted to know what you wise ladies (and gents!) of EDS had to say on the subject. |

I have used Bobbie Brown corrector as a concealer for years and it is a miracle worker. I have Amazing as well but I use it as a spot treatment, a little bit heavy for me.
I will have to try and find the By Terry, sound very interesting! |

I also use Bobbie Brown corrector as a concealer for around eyes dark circles. It's the best product for this area i tried so far.
The only complain - i have to adjust it several times during a day, because it concentrates inside of tiny mimic lines and become visible.
So i have to smooth it time to time.
I would like to try this By Terry product. I am not sure i can get used to it's brush. Do they keep it in Sephora ? |

I tried tons of concealers and only found two that provide good, natural looking cover:
Benefit - Erase Paste
The Balm - Time Balm

ellaelise, if it's any consolation, I come across people with very dark circles from time to time, and they're actually the very thing that makes them quite beautiful. They rarely know it though.
A long, long time ago John Galiano did a runway show where all the girls had very fair skin with dark, dark shadow under their eyes. It was absolutely breathtaking.
I wish you'd at least take a second to consider whether they're really unattractive or not. Sometimes we're brainwashed into thinking that certain features are "wrong".
I just thought I'd throw it out there... |

LoriA, thank you for your kind words, they really do mean a lot to me. The thing is, I do agree with you- I actually kind of like them, to a point. It's just that they're SOOOOO dark, you know? It hasn't been as much of a problem since I'm 29, but I do worry about them making me look older. Also, it's not just them- my eyelids are suuuuuper thin too, meaning they look super red all the time. Then again, people have told me I look like I'm always wearing a brownish eyeshadow so maybe they aren't so bad. I AM my harshest critic, though (aren't we all?) so your words really are helping.
That being said, I did decide to give the Knox gelatin a shot. It's so inexpensive, it can't hurt, right? |

Best concealer for blemishes? MUFE Full Cover, hands down. You don't even need to set it with powder.
For the undereye area, I like to mix MUFE Full Cover and MUFE Lift concealer (or It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye). |
