I'm not trying to be spam-y, I did do a search, but it was hard to lower the number of results and find exactly what I was looking for. After half an hour of searching I decided to just ask.
What do you guys think is the best Vitamin C serum out there for combination/oily skin? Also, how do you feel about Skinceuticals? Is the price justified? I might need a cheaper option for now anyway, but I'm hearing mixed things about both owndoc and SkinActives' brands.
One more q: I've never used one before, this is for derma rolling, and I use Retin-A. If I were to get Skinceuticals, should I go for the 10%, 15%, or 20% first? Thank you guys so much and my apologies in advance! |

Hello ellaelise I read so many great reviews on Skinceuticals vitamin C serum. But they are so expensive that it is not really affordable for long-term use for an average person like myself... If you can afford the Skinceuticals, go for the lowest strength first and work your way up so your skin is not shocked at the highest strength. You can also DIY your own vitamin C serum yourself. Go to "Skincare Tools and Do-It-Yourself Skincare" of this forum and you will find simple DIY Vitamin C Serum. If you make your own, you are rest assured that your vitamin C serum is always "fresh" and will do more good on your skin than an oxidized vitamin C that has been sitting on the shelf for so long... Good luck! |

Cosmetic Skin Solutions C E Ferulic is a fraction of the price of the Skinceuticals. I have used it continuously for the last year- absolutely HG. I find it really helps perk up the eyes after a restless night. |

Thank you guys! So much great advice, I really appreciate it and am so thankful I discovered this forum! Yeah, the Skinceuticals is too pricey for me to be used regularly, long-term, like I'm going to need to when I derma roll. I've bookmarked this post and am going to figure out what's best for me. Love you guys! |

ellalise - If you're still looking for a good Vit C serum, google "Mad Hippie" - I love it! It's about $30 for a 1 oz glass bottle. Contains ferulic, hyaluronic acid and konjac root also. I use it after my Clarisonic every morning and even put it on the backs of my hands which have never looked better! |

I've used several C serums - Skinceuticals included. I've made DIY with jojoba. Recently I am using one from Nanci @ NCN proskincare. I really value her commitment to quality products at best prices. She won't sell it if it isn't off the charts. Looking good! |

I'm rather liking the Devita 17% C at the moment.
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/devita-c-17-serum-p_14014.htm
Have used various of the skinceutical serums in the past, can't remember which ones now, and of course they're good products, but personally prefer the Devita, not to mention the price is much more reasonable.
Also am planning to try the NCN product mentioned by sis. The ingredients list looks quite nice. Looking forward to a review of this by sis. |
