Hi Friends,
I am off to Derms office today to consult about a chemical peel. I have been thinking about having one of these superficial peels ( especially glycolic acid peel)for a long time. Its been five years since I had one which was a 20% glycolic acid peel. My skin looked great after I had it. Now I am going on 37 don’t have any skin condition or wrinkle and after I bought the Merbe my skin actually looks better than ever before. But I still think a peel or a microdermabrasion would make my skin better.
I was doing some reading about which peel is better and came across some scary stories. I was thinking about asking the derm for a 30% glycolic peel but now I am very confused after reading all those scary stories of people getting burnt and white scars. Please give me your suggestion or share your experience so I can decide whether to go for a microdermabrasion or a peel.
Thank you
Nadia |

Nadia, it's great you are going to a derm office as opposed to a spa. You will be under better hands and a 20% glycolic peel to start would be good for you. |

I do 50% lactic acid peels once in a while and they are great - my skin actually doesn't 'peel' with them - I do a series of 4 once a week, and even by the 3rd week my skin looks smoother and more even toned.
I have very dry skin, no acne problems, but some minor issues with clogged pores. I also get ingrown hair - and related hyperpigmentation issues - on my face from where I tweeze hair off my chin! |

Regular weekly exfoliation is important to renew the skin. I would suggest at-home products and it is cheaper on the budget. But of course, you can not get the professional strength of the products that doctor will offer you.... |
