I want one of these!
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/647220040/2012_hot_Skin_care_led_light.html
My makeover regime has worked WONDERS on my face and neck, but I've neglected my body - just using soap, water and oil or body lotion when I'm feeling dry. Not to mention my lack of exercise - I walk a lot but am in desperate need of toning, and my skin is...unfortunate.
Yesterday was my birthday (58th), and I promised (threatened) my friends on facebook that on my 60th I was going to post a naked pic of myself. LOL! I just might do it if I can get my butt whipped into shape.
I'm too skinny to have cellulite, but certain areas that used to be plump and are no longer plump - my boobs and my butt - look tired. I've started with exercise, finally (I'm the WORST at procrastination when it comes to physical effort) but want to improve the skin. I want that fresh, plump skin that I used to have and never appreciated!
Anyone ever use full body LEDs? What did you think? |

I have a friend that has an LED bed and paid around 1800.00 for it. She swears by it. By the way I turned 58 today....April is a good month don't you think? |

It is indeed!
I also saw one on ebay for $1000 - it was a refitted tanning bed. These are kind of spendy for me, I might have to go another way - maybe with grow light panels or something... |

Happy Birthday Immacolata and Toby!
Buy a bed for your b'day and post a review.
They do look amazing. Would love to take a spare closet and staple up those plant grow boards in every color and slowly spin in circles to get maximum benefits from all colors.
Well, a girl can dream. |

... lol. DH is an electrical engineer (and used to grow his own aquarium plants) ... wonder if I could talk him into this? The stapling, not the spinning.
threadjack - hey, alabamagirl, the SEC had a great NFL draft, didn't they? I assume you're a Crimson Tide fan. We're South Carolina Gamecocks and Ole Miss Rebels at my house ... but we love everybody in the SEC! /end of threadjack

I'm thinking something like 5-6 panels, suspended over a cot/table...
I wish the tanning bed places would get these. I used to buy memberships to these in the spring, back in the day when we were fooling ourselves that they were safe. I'd definitely pay for a course of LED treatment - AND they are much cheaper to run than UV so it shouldn't cost more. I wonder if any place does offer this? |

I started with peels for hyperpigmentation - first lactic acid peels, then a stronger BHA with hydroquinone - I didn't use that one long, the HQ kind of scares me. When I went to TCA, then I saw a lot of difference. The texture of my skin improved and fine lines were clearing away. TCA still scares me though, it's so freaking strong.
I also used copper peptides - P&R cream, then went to P&R w/retinol, then Skin Signals. I had been doing OCM for a year previously because of blackheads and clogged pores, and my skin cleared up wonderfully, but it was still "aged" and parchment-like. The CPs worked their magic well, my skin is 200% fresher and younger looking.
But I still had saggy jowls and deep naso-labial folds, so I started doing facial exercise. I had an old Carol Maggio video that I did a few times, but felt it wasn't working. So I started with Ageless if You Dare and that really did the trick. It took a few months, but now when people see me, who haven't seen me in a year or so, they always exclaim "you look wonderful!" or beautiful, or gorgeous - it's quite uplifting! |

Here is a place in New York City that offers LED bed treatments. I don't remember how much a treatment was but it was expensive. I've never done it but remember someone at EDS talking about it once.

Pinot!!!
Temporary off thread - you betcha I'm a Crimson Tide fan. Roll Tide Roll. Got my graduate degree there and son got his B.S. Can't believe all the national championships! I was born in Columbia, SC and Dad graduated from USC so I was raised a gamecock fan. Have always liked Ole Miss because of Archie Manning. Hugh Frieze is going to be awesome for that school. SEC SEC SEC! Yeah, I like all SEC teams except LSU.
Now back to our regular programming....
I heard it mentioned once on EDS that some progressive gyms have the LED beds.
Good luck getting your DH to build something.
Immacolata-- about the only things I'm afraid to try are dermarolling and copper peptides. I don't like pain and I'm afraid of making my skin worse. So glad it worked for you though! |

Hi immacolata,
Congrats on doing such great renovation on yourself! Very heartening to hear.
I'd love to know what strength tca you used to deal with hyperpigmentation, and where you used it. I've never used tca and am considering it, but am fairly freaked at the propect!
I would LOVE an led bed, what a fabulous idea. I dont have the space for one, but if I did, I would go for it. |

Just a warning - be careful when you buy stuff like that direct from China. They have no regulations what-so-ever. Counterfeit/Fake is one thing, but you don't want to get yourself something that can do damage.

winewine, I am always super careful purchasing on ebay. I only buy from the super-sellers, people with very high overall feedback, and I read any negative feedback to see what it's about - if it's just a normal dispute and not about product quality, I generally ignore it. As a rule, I don't buy things that can be tampered or diluted - essential oils, creams, lotions, perfume, etc.
I also always pay with PayPal, which makes it easier to get your money back in case of fraud. |

I am actually more concern with the safety protocols of the products from China. There are so many counterfeit and fake products from China which can actually be harmful to health. Just want our fellow EDSer's to be careful. |

I would absolutely buy a membership if LED beds were offered around here. To my amazement, tanning salons are still very much alive and kicking where I live. Of course, most tanning salons now offer spray tans, but still I can't believe how many people still go and lie in those tanning beds. Hmmm..now you've got me thinking. Maybe I could open an LED bed salon? LOL. But I don't know how well that would do, you'd probably also have to have tanning beds to be profitable. People want "instant" results, and with LED's, it can take time. |

Yes, I know what you mean. However, if you buy from a long-established seller, and READ THE FEEDBACK, you can generally avoid buying garbage. The thing about ebay is that if you rip people off, they have a venue to tell others about it, and the seller's history is there for you to see.
Not everything manufactured in Asia is garbage. I know there are a lot of unscrupulous sellers, but they're not all in China. I got ripped off on ebay in the early days from a guy in the UK. |

don't get me wrong. I am from Asia, and I know there are reliable products from the area. but I heard too many horror stories from fake eggs made from plastic, fake soya sauce from hair, and fake baby formulae made with melamine and with zero nutritional values. anyway, if you find anything good, please do share with us. ^_^ |

Oh, I know! It's so scary. I often feed my animals homecooked food when I can. I would just DIE if anything happened to my babies!
In the long run, if you rely on good, genuine feedback (easy to tell genuine feedback, when a person has thousands of ratings and has been a seller for a number of years) you should be okay - AND if you pay with PayPal, you're golden. |

In Denmark we have something called the Beauty Angel, which is as far as I can ascertain a LED light bed.
This company has appr 100 clinics/"tanning"salons scattered over the country (which btw is a very small country). I should be very surprised if Denmark was somehow first movers in this market, so surely something similar must be in the US? |
