Hi,
I've been using Vaseline on the base of my eyelashes, as a few people have told me that this product makes your eyelashes stronger.
I have noticed that my eyes go blurry and its like that for a couple of days, I have a pounding headache and I get this horrible taste in my mouth. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced any of these symptoms or different symptoms?
I have been using a product called Careprost for about 8 weeks, so I know it isn't that. I have been using Vaseline for just over a week, and that's when all these problems started happening. I have now stopped the Vaseline, as this has really scared me.
Take care, Rhiannon x |

If you go back to thread you'd started about it, you'll see that a few of us recommended castor oil.
I don't mind putting vaseline on my skin, but wouldn't feel comfortable putting it that close to my eyes, where its likely to get IN my eyes.
I've put it underneath and near the corners before. |

I really don't think it's the Vaseline. There's a product called Lacri-Lube which is a lubricant for severely dry eyes and the ingredients are mineral oil and petrolatum. You are meant to pull down the lower lid and apply a thin strip of the lacri-lube inside of the eyelid. My vision gets blurry, but it moisturizes my eyes like nothing else. This is sold in drugstores without a prescription.
Maybe it is the Careprost. Even though you've been using it for 8 weeks some rare side effects do not manifest immediately.
I found at least one website that lists headaches as a side effect of careprost.

It could also be something else. Seasonal allergies perhaps?
Either way Vaseline will not help you grow thicker eyelashes. I suppose it may moisturize the ones you have and they'll be stronger and healthier. |
