Read all the threads about milia. From what ive read, theyre very stubborn to remove. I had a bunch like 20 small ones on both cheekbones. Last option is going to one of those laser dermatology institutes ive seen on tv. I bought a salicylic acid 30% to do a peel. Is that too strng. Im a 33 yr old male and im new to skin care. |

I did an aggressive session with derma pen and the ones I had on my cheekbone and upper eyelid (I pulled it up over the bone) have disappeared.
Don't know if it would work for everyone, but it did me. I had tried piercing them with a lancet before which didn't work, and I regularly use ReAura laser, but that didn't work (and could not of course go that close to eye). Was very surprised, and happy. |

30% salicylic acid peel (5 of them) made no difference to mine. I have tried piercing them, but it doesn't help. I have been able to remove 2 of them with a sonic spatula. I only use it once a week and it has taken about 4 tries to coax the stuff out. These two are around my nose and I can be a little more aggressive there. I have 2 more on one of my lower eyelids, but I am afraid of being to aggressive there. |

i just got off pinetrest and seen a product called milia cream by Better Complexions for $24.99. Anyone ever heard of it. On a side note, with the help of my gf, i started to do a peel of 30% salyclic acid. After 20 seconds my cheecks were on fire. I had to rinse it off. Good thing I only put it on my cheecks, under my eyes cause 2 days later my skin was brown and peeled. Nicely btw. Milkia still there, but 2 were able to be pushed out. Will do it once a week along with daily exfoliation. So if i out it ver my entire face, I will have a face full of scab??? If so , how do u guys go to work . I have to deal with people face to fac |

My skin does not scab with 30% SA. I get a little bit of frosting if I get too close to my nose and the corners of my mouth, but in general I tolerate it very well. I just don't see any benefit from using it.
Be careful with exfoliation now and before you do the peel again. I think you should let your skin return to normal before you do it again. You might cause inflammation and make matters worse. |

I had one on my upper lid, very close to the lashes... I carefully applied Paula's Choice BHA9 once in a while, but I wasn't necessarily focusing on it, and the other night I noticed that it was barely visible!
I read other reviews on the PC site commenting on success with milia removal. |

Wouldnt massaging the area,do cleanses, and generally improve blood circulation and quality-
make them so soft to remove with most of the methods in the long run? |

I had a problem with a few milia. When I started using the Cellese AnteAge serum it softened up the white stuff inside the milia and and made the skin around it soft so I was able to push the milia out with my fingernails. I had only been using it for 3-4 weeks when that happened. They have not come back. |

An ongoing battle for me. I get them by the inner and outer corners of my eyes. I just pick at them -- my dermatologist told me to! Sometimes I get a needle and poke to cause mild inflammation that pushes them out. |

Hello gbinkster My mom used to have those stubbon milia, not anymore though. Best I've tried is using extraction tools to remove it without damaging the surrounding skin. But make sure that you have some alcohol with you.... To avoid recurrence of milia, I would suggest not to use bar soaps to clean the face but rather foaming gel or any mild liquid soap for the skin. Hope this helps! |

so i went to the dermatologist last month, she said the milia would have to be popped (which i assumed she would charge a descent amount) I said no i only wanted to laser them off or try a cream for a while. She gave me tretinoin .025%. I dont knnow why, but i asked her to send me to a skin care specialist and i would pay for the lasering. I dont wanna wait another year or more to clear my face. Anyway, i had just finished my 2nd salicylic acid peel 2weeks apart. First one peeled fine, no probs, and i was able to push out like 5 milia. 2 weeks later i did another peel, left in on for 8 minutes compared to my usual 4 minutes. It looked like i had been in a fight, lol. I only put it on my cheecks where the milia are. After a few days thepeeling had finished. I still seen a few patches of brown, my skin is olive/ tan looking. At that time i put on the tretinoin cream overnight. A few days later i seen the patches havent gone away. Now my face is looking rough/ worse. Shout i do a light microdermabrasion with my Jafra microdermabrasion cream my grandma gave me? Its been almost 2 weeks and i need to get my skin the sam ecolor again |

I just scratch and pick at them and then apply LacSal if it's not too close to my eye to set up irritation and move them out eventually. Also poke with a needle, which is tricky because they are so mobile underneath the thin eye skin. Once they get bigger they are a bit easier to grab. it's hard for even a dermatologist to grab them. |

Hello gbinkster, did you wear sunscreen? When you apply tretinoin cream, your skin will tend to be "sensitive" to light... Whenever you do any type of peeling, it is advisable to wear sunscreen no matter what time of the day it is... Healing your skin after a peel takes time. Over-treating it and not waiting your skin to heal is not advisable.... But while you are healing, it is extremely important even more to wear sunscreen....

It may be post inflammatory hyper pigmentation, and not just skin waiting to peel.
I would stick with the tretinoin, and make sure to wear sunscreen as Jade recommended. It will eventually resolve, but it may take some time. Unfortunately, I am sure you have now learned that you can't overdo the peels or other abrasive methods. |
