Hi All,
I just ordered a Vitamin C serum and I was wondering about something, if the serum is delivered during a heat wave would that degrade the solution and hinder its effectiveness? And if so is there any "solution" to that? |

I am always nervous about buying any skincare products during the warmer months of the year, so I usually don't. I can see them sitting in a burning hot UPS, FedX, or Mail Carriers van and it worries me a lot. I try to stock up on products in the dead of winter for that very reason. As far a Vit C serums go, I would think it would accelerate the degradation of the product BIG TIME. Consequently, I make my own C Serum. That way I know just what's in it, and know its fresh. I also order the ingredients in the winter months because of my paranoia . |

This is a concern of mine also. Atleast with LAA serums you can go by the color to see if its oxidized. |

I agree that extrem heat would affect product big time. So would very cold temperature as I get in the winter here in est Canada. I always order during fall and spring. |

I wish I had thought of this. I have a 2 oz bottle of Vitamin C serum on the way, and a bottle of retinol was delivered today in 90+ heat. I guess my antiaging regimen wont be as effective this summer. Come fall I will stock up I guess.
I did not realize that cold affects it too, how so? I would think cold is good, such as how refrigeration preserves things? |

Well about the cold (I don't know where you are) but here in the winter it gets as low as -22 F (-30 C) So, for sure it frezzes the products.
For sure I would not worry about anything above 22 F (-5 C).

Maybe, it did not sit for hours in the truck and your products are still fine. How long it sits in the heat is also a factor. |

I hope so. I paid like $75 for the serum and $42 for the retinol. I mean $120 almost of product. That is a lot of money and I would hate to think this stuff is ineffective by the time it gets to me. Ugh
Okay, so maybe for where I am (NJ) winter is a good time to stock up big time. I know that on Black Friday they have good sales usually on most sites. So that would be just perfect.
Sorry if my response was slow but as a relative newbie I am only allowed 5 posts per day |

This really sucks for me as I wanted to turn around some wrinkles by fall. I had no choice but to order my products now. We just got over a little stretch of ninety degree weather, and my retinol arrived in it all toasty. I assume retinol is subject to heat as well as Vitamin C? Very disappointed, but there isnt much I can do really. |
