Last night whilst tooling around on E-bay, I found myself engaged in a bidding war (I lost) for a sample jar of La Mer cream. Whoever won got it for $24.00/US.
I had the "oh well" attitude, but I'm wondering if any of you have used it and is it worth it, or is it just an ordinary cream that gained notoriety b/c celebs. used it?
When it comes to really moisturizing my crappy, dry winter skin, I feel like I still have my HG in RYF Ambrosia, but I was kind of curious to see what all the fuss was about.

Hi Mariav - I've used the LaMer cream and the serum for the face. My skin looked good when I was using it, actually, it looked pretty great, I guess ......my skin wore makeup really well and my skin tone looked great (but my skin tone is not exactly bad now though, either)... the LaMer line just wasn't impressive enough for me to keep up the expensive habit (expensive for me, anyway)....If, however, someone gave me a complimentary jar, I'd be very happy to use it!

I have tried the cream and really didn't see any miracles. Don't really like the odd granny type fragrance.
If you live in the states and is close to NM or Saks, La Mer counter is usually very generous with samples. |

Is La Mer the same as Crem de La Mer, which is mega expensive and what the hollywood dollies use....... |

I'm a la mer person. I've tried other lines but always end up going back to la mer as a night cream. At one point was using serum and cream but got too expensive. In the end it ends up just as cost effective and simple for me because a little goes a long way and I can use it all over my face instead of buying eye cream, lip balm, etc. |

That's a good point, Skinadict - and yes, Cindi - you've got the right LaMer!

It worked wonders for me for about three days. When my skin is looking stressed and terrible this does work. On a daily basis though I didn't find that it was all that good. I have since switched to the Dr Hauschka Rose Day cream to use when I would normally use La Mer and I actually prefer that. |

Agree with Mabsy about La Mer - great for a fix up if you're dehydrated, not so good for all the time. I too prefer DR H Rose cream.
The La Mer does go a long way though and to be fair it's been so hyped up that it's almost inevitable that it will dissappoint even though it's a good product!

Mabsy - does the rose cream feel stimulating to your skin at all or does it just act like a radiance booster for you?
Thanks

It actually feels soothing, not stimulating. But my skin does look healthier after using it ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

That's great! I'm going to put this cream on my next order -- I've been experimenting alot lately and I am really intrigued by the Dr. Hauschka philosophy...I've been using the cleansing cream for the past 3 days and am really interested in trying another piece from that line.
Thanks
