I don't know anything about the use of emu oil as part of a daily routine, but I do 60% glycolic acid peels at home and the regimen recommends the use of copper peptide serum and emu oil immediately after the peel.
I use the CP serum nightly, but the only time I use the emu oil is after a peel and I will say it is truly amazing stuff. If you've ever used a peel, you know that 2 or 3 days after doing it, your skin can look pretty bad. The benefits are well worth it, and I would do it with or without the emu oil. But the emu oil virtually erases the post peel uglies!
I don't think I could tolerate it as part of my regular routine, but if someone suffers with seriously dry skin, I would think it would be a godsend.
I understand that it also promotes the deeper penetration of other active ingredients applied topically....
I'm sure one of the gals who is far more knowledgeable than I can say more though.... |

I've used Emu Oil and it's quite nice. I just got some Camellia Oil and like that a BUNCH better. The Emu takes quite awhile to absorb and I just don't have that kind of time in the morning. And for me, the Camellia hydrates better but YMMV.
One more thing. I can not stand the smell of the Emu Oil and no one seems to talk about that. Someone said it has a nutty smell. To me it has a rancid, dirty sock smell! I'm always afraid I "smell" if someone gets near my face. I'm sure I don't but that's how much I don't like the smell.

I also like camellia oil (I use the Silkia brand) better than Emu oil. Camellia oil acutually penetrates better than Emu because it has a much higher percentage of Oleic acid. |

I use Camellia Oil and love it. I think that Emu oil claims are different: pain relief, healing etc. My daughter loves Emu oil. It has really helped with diaper rash, itchy rases and bug bites on her boys. I also have Emu oil but like Camellia oil better for my face. Using it as a deep moisturizer is wonderful. I don't find it as a wrinkle cure. If fines lines are due to dehydration it will plump up those lines. |
