Hi guys- I made another batch of Kassy's Vitamin C with Ferulic and Jojoba, but the batch I made burned so bad I actually burned my skin. I tried making a much bigger batch and while I purposely used more of the Ferulic Acid mixture than usual, I think I also used too much Vitamin C. My question is, which do you think burned my skin? I ask because I would like to add extra Ferulic to my next batch, but if it's likely it caused my skin to burn too then forget it. Also because I applied the Ferulic mixture directly to my a part of my skin (to test and see if it was smooth) and it didn't burn at all. Then again, it was also really cold.

My question in a nutshell: Is too much Ferulic just as dangerous as too much Vitamin C, or is it gentler and therefore safe to add a little more to Kassy's mixture? Thank you guys!

Hi ellaelise , do u have a pH meter or strips? most likely the pH is too low, I dont think FA is the culprit here but most likely it's more ascorbic acid than your skin can handle ...

No I don't, and pH is still something I'm learning about. I too think I must have added too much Vit C accidentally. I'm going to go ahead and make another batch with the regular amount of Vit C and just a little extra Ferulic and let you guys know how it goes.

Are any pH strips acceptable for testing> Like the ones that are meant for testing on "urine and saliva"- that I keep finding on Amazon. If not, does anyone have a link where I can buy some from a place that ships FAST> Thank you!
