I've had issues with my hands being dry since I was a teenager (31 now). It's severe enough that sometimes they crack and bleed. More often the backs of them are just really rough to the touchr. I've tried a few different kinds of lotion and nothing works really well. Do you have any suggestions? I don't want anything that smells because strong fragrances tend to give me headaches.
The ones I've tried: Avon Moisture Therapy, Avalon Organics Hand & Body Lotion, Burt's Bees Ultimate Care Hand Cream. There've been a couple of others, but I can't remember the names. |

Have you tried something with lanolin?

Egyptian Magic is pretty moisturizing without being heavy. It has beewax, olive oil and honey. Nice and not fragranced at all.
Wearing cotton gloves to bed with something -even vaseline - on helps.
Occlusive therapy: wearing plastic gloves under the cotton gloves can boost the moisture level of your skin.
Why is your skin so dry? Do you wear gloves for household chores and gardening? Do you wear gloves in the winter?
I had to use SuperGlue on the cracks on my thumbs until I started wearing gloves and frequently applying hand cream. Dr Hauschka is another nice one. |

I don't know if you have done this, but you might want to check with a dermatologist to rule out a chronic condition like eczema or psoriasis. If you have something like this, OTC won't really help. I had this problem with the tops of my feet, only a steroid cream worked...I tried everything, even the Vaseline with sock trick!!! |

Get those little cotton gloves - they have them at drugstores and dollar stores. At night, after your bath or after washing your hands, apply something very greasy like petroleum jelly or other thick butter or cream, and put on the gloves and sleep in them.
That's all I've got, sorry. |

Various members have suggested different creams and serums. I suggest one thing more in addition that you should consult a good dermatologist also in this regard. Its safe and better approach. |

My hands were dry for a while when I was taking a rest from supplements. My hands normalised again when I upped my nutritional status.
If I were you I'd experiment with some good vitamin and mineral supplements.
And maybe some kelp, to boost thyroid. Low thyroid can result in dry skin. |
