Ok so I am thinking of buying this kit as I am just too loathe to spend the £250 CDLM costs in the UK. I have freinds who use CDLM (amongst other things). Their complexions are all flawless and they rave incessantly about it. I am usually quite strong minded but they are breaking me down (and I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious about the 'hype'). The idea behind CDLM seems to be good i.e. good barrier cream with sea healing sea actives (sea kelp broth). That said, I just have the feeling that this concept could be replicated for a lot less.
The MUA reviews seem very favourable for the SA Kit and CDLM seems to have a very loyal following. That said I wanted to get some opinions here on EDS.
My questions therefore are:
1. Is there a huge difference in performance?
2. Is there a difference in consistency?
3. Are they the same or very different products?
4. Money aside would you opt for the SA or the CDLM?
Thanks in advance for your replies |

I have used both but I use just the kit now and am very happy with it. The original broke me out and I didn't see any results to justify the price.
The consistency can be changed with the kit ingredients. I have used thicker the first time but the second time I made it a bit runnier. Didn't seem to matter much, just a personal preference.
I put my jar after it is made in my sonic jewelry cleaner and it really mixes it up to create a broth-like consistency.
I also left out the fragrance second time around.
I cannot say that the kit gives a great noticeable result but it makes a nice lotion/cream. |

AnnieR thanks for the review. This was kind of my feeling. I would rather use that £250 on facials for 6 months as opposed to one skin cream. |

ShiningStar, I hate to tell you that your friends are right! CDLM is the only thing that makes my skin glow which I think is very important. However, I have learned from continous use that the 'glow' is superficial. When it comes to barrier repair and moisturizing there are better options out there. I use NIA 24 Intensive Recovery Complex which contains ceramdies and Niacin- this has been shown to be more effective than mineral oil in repairing the skin barrier.
If I were you, I would not use CDLM as an everyday/night cream- this is not only because of the cost but also its performance. I use it as part of my evening regime when I want to look fresh and glowing- sort of like a primer. A layer of CDLM seems to attract every light in the restaurant and I never fail to get a compliment when I have it on. |

Oooh Jamie - cheekie. I did chuckle reading this. Thanks so much for the feedback will look into the NIA24. I have also been reading good things about the Algenist moisturiser which is supposed to be a good alternative. |

I'm trying to find the CDLM dup kit on Skinactives and I don't see it. Could you include a link?
TIA! |

I'm a CDLM lover, would the dupe have the same result? |

I am a fan of the Algenist line as well. Great stuff, just out of it right now and trying to use up the tons of other stuff. I think it is a good product for the money.
After 3 months and a jar of LaMer, I sadly never got my glow! I got a better glow from my Proheal/Hydra Cool combo from IS clinical and TNS serum. Yet, I have heard from a lot of people that they love the stuff.
Proof is in all how your skin responds it seems. |
