During my pregnancy, I've switched to organic skin care products, partially for safety but mainly because I have the time to look into this area further.
I tried Real Purity's creme foundation and liked it quite a bit. It contains kaolin, which means that when it dries you can feel it tighten on your skin just a little bit. I use a kaolinite mask to shrink pores, so I was happy to see that it contained this ingredient. I did feel that it dried my skin out a little bit, but as a woman in her thirties, I need to use moisturizer at night anyway.
Though it's a liquid foundation, I would describe it as providing light coverage. It smoothed my skin color and fine lines, but didn't effectively cover acne, so I did have to pair it with a concealer.
One of the things I like about this line is that it has a variety of colors for people with fair skin. I typically end up purchasing the lightest color in many drug store brands, even though it's a bit too pale for me. My other alternative tends to be a pinkish or orangey coverage, which is certainly not attractive. The light shades in this line seem to blend well, so it doesn't have to be a perfect match to look good on.
If you look on line, the colors shown are much darker than the foundation appears. This made it hard for me to accurately predict which color would look best. I ended up buying samples from their website to find my best fit. That wasn't expensive, but it was a bit of a pain and I would have preferred the website to contain a bit more information about the color you are selecting, since the brand is not commonly available in stores.
The foundation cost $26 for 1.5oz, which was certainly more expensive than a drug store brand, but is one of the cheaper organic brands that I've found. I'm going to keep using this product and would recommend it to those who want organic products or who have sensitive skin.

Now that you are no longer pregnant (presumably), would you still use this? |
