I went to a med spa which offers its members one free service per month. Services include: chemical peels, IPL, microdermabrasion, sclerotherapy, laser hair removal, etc. Membership is $200 per month for a year.
Has anyone tried being a member at a MedSpa? Was it worth it?
The spa is founded by a MD.
Thank you! |

The price sounds almost too good to be true (and if it was true, I'd sign up tomorrow)
Do basic background research. How long has it been operating? What licensing or experience do the technicians have? Current client reviews?
That said, I've always had better experience at a Medspa than with a derm. This market (and I'm no capitalist, btw) is pretty competitive and I find a lot of the technicians really know their stuff.
Better than a derm who has studied in the '70s and is coasting by on that knowledge. I've never been satisfied with any derm doctor when it comes to more cosmetic skin issues. |

Where I work, we have a similar membership. People love it. Just make sure that the services available in the membership are ones you want. |

Not a med spa, but I did buy a membership to a dance studio that was unlimited classes for $130 per month and prepaid for the year.
I was enjoying my membership as I used to pay per class and it was more.
After about 6 months the lady who ran the school decided to close. I did get part of my money back, as the owner is nice and honest- but most places you just lose your money if they go under.
I would be sure of the terms and if you use a credit card you can often get part of the money back- that has happened to me with my Glymm cosmetic membership I had. |

There are four of those spas: 2 in Ottawa and 2 in Toronto area. The membership is valid for all locations. So hopefully they will not all go under during the same year)) But thanks for letting me know! This stuff happens.
Oh, and I have just called them to confirm that they withdraw money every month from your account. It is not one big fat sum upfront.
