Has anyone considered using acupuncture needles instead of dermarollers or dermastamps to treat skin wrinkles or scars?
You can purchase acupuncture needles really cheap and seem to be available in similar diameters to the products offered by owndoc and since they are so inexpensive you could treat them as disposable instead of being concerned about disinfecting or cleaning.
Granted, the process might be slower because you could only insert one needle at a time but for some reason it seems like acupuncture needles would be less painful --- maybe because the only time they have been used on me they didn't go deep into the skin and I didn't have hundreds done at one sitting! |

I actually did try an acupuncture needle once to single-needle a scar. The needles are extremely fine tho so Im not sure enough "damage" would be done to trigger the cascade needed for collagen induction.
Also, I was afraid Id stick it in too deep and hit a nerve, not knowing the meridians to avoid. So I stick with my My-M pen and that works for me! |
