I have bumps all over my face. I think I have KPRF, but I'm not entirely certain of it. I'm not certain because the bumps are very odd. I have them in specific places and some places have somewhat normal skin. Sometimes, I get these odd itchy pimples just from touching my face which is very odd. The pink strange pimples form sometimes right before my eyes in a matter of seconds. I don't understand my skin anymore. I have some trouble trying lotions and make-up because I worry it will create more bumps.
I have pink areas on my skin that have been there for close to 3 years now. I guess it is hyperpigmentation? I asked a dermatologist if it was scarring and she said no she thinks it's broken blood vessels from a long time of inflammation in the areas, I'm not sure I buy it. She never closely examined my skin to come to that conclusion. She wants me to do PDL laser and I am scared to do it because of the sensitive and odd nature of my skin, so I can't imagine what a laser would do to it since skin creams cause slightly odd changes. I have seen my skin change usually for the worse after two days of use of trying new products before. It's very odd...
The one thing I use that seems to aid my skin slightly with the bumps...not so much the pink skin, is yogurt. I thought it was due to the lactic acid, but oddly I went and bought lactic acid 5% lotion and tried it on my face one night and it seemed to perhapas irritate my skin and it turned pinker so it scared me out of trying the lotion again, perhaps there was an ingredient in it that my skin didn't enjoy...So, I took a big step and had a lactic acid peel done at a spa. In fact, I went back 3 times and had it done. Each time, the esthetician only used 20% she told me. Oddly, I didn't see that much of a difference to the bumps on my face, if anything at all. Perhaps it helped the texture VERY slightly, but I'm not certain anymore of that. I found this odd because I thought if yogurt was helpful and it could be the low amount of lactic acid in it that is helpful, then why didn't a TWENTY percent peel give a noticeable difference to my skin? What else could be in the yogurt that aids bumps? I have looked into zinc and bought zinc creams, but haven't seen a drastic difference either. Then again I did not continue with the cream for long enough to really test it out....I honestly felt odd wearing baby diaper zinc cream on my face! Does anyone have ideas on what in yogurt could be helping?
Does anyone have bumps and strange persistent pink skin in the same locations for a long amount of time? What can I do for my skin to help it? |

Hi pokerlady888,
When my skin is going out of balance and i don’t know what to do with it, i always come back to Paula’s Choice skincare:
http://www.paulaschoice.com/static
She has huge verity of products for all kinds of problems. It is not expensive, so you can experiment on which one your skin likes better.
I always use her BHA or AHA gel (for different purposes). She also has some new product now that seems right for your needs - RESIST weekly retexturing treatment with 4% BHA. I didn’t try it yet though.
Good luck. |
