I had read rave reviews on MUA of how great Eucerin 'Aquaphor' Healing Ointment was as a lip balm and so I started my search both by internet and on foot to find this product. Turns out they don't sell it in the UK.
When my boyfriend had a business trip to Boston I asked him to buy me some Aquaphor while he was there. He returned with 2 x tubes of the stuff. It was nice but no different from Vaseline.
He's just returned from another trip to Boston and as he'd forgotten to take a lip balm with him he paid a visit to a local CVS to buy one. He was going to buy some Aquaphor but instead he bought the CVS Advanced Healing Ointment as it was cheaper.
I promptly relieved him of the burden of carrying this round with him everyday when he returned to the UK (I'm so nice to him!) and I would never part with it now.
It looks and feels like Vaseline. It applies like Vaseline but it is soooooooo much better as a lip balm than Vaseline. I often find with Vaseline (and Aquaphor) that if you eat or drink after applying it then it rubs off and your lips start feeling dry again and you need to keep re-applying. With the CVS stuff I find that even when the initial greasy application of the ointment has worn off my lips are still left feeling soft and smooth. I don't need to re-apply the product as my lips don't feel dry or cracked. I probably only apply the product about 3-4 times during a 24 period. My lips it!
The packaging is nothing special, just a plastic tube. The product isn't fragranced or coloured. There is nothing gimmicky about it. It works for me though and next time my boyfriend visits the USA I will be asking him to leave some space in his suitcase for more tubes of my new HG lip balm.
(Although I do still want to try Dr Lipp Nipple Cream for its lip healing properties - but that's just because I like the name!) |

But think of the poor boy having to lug the tube around with him all the time - you *did* do him a favour!
Sounds good Toe, I'm off to the US in May and I'm adding this to my list (together with a Diamancel, a few shades of Milani blushes, and some Jane blushes and eyeshadows as well, and the NARS Portofino....) |
