The doctors said it was not acne and told us to confer with a dermatologist...
But is anyone able to identify his condition?
picture of his face here

copy into url bar, image hosted by puush, it's safe!
Also, he is 15 and has had this condition for 6 months, may have started when he tried his sister's benzoyl peroxide. |

IANAD but I think it would be best to have a medical person see the rash in person. Not even a dermatologist would try to diagnose a rash over the interwebs, sorry. Could be dermatitis from the BP of course. Stop that til a Dr sees him. |

I'm no dr. But I second what Fawnie says. I would being your son to the dermatologist. They will be able to figure out what he has. Good Luck! |

I'm with Fawnie. Please don't try to have people on the internet who you do not know, diagnose your son. I agree with your doctor; a dermatologist is probably your best bet. That's because those doctors specialize in afflictions of the skin. If you are in the United States a dermatologist is also a Medical Doctor, so you have all your bases covered going that route. Good luck. If you feel like posting when you find out what your son has, I'd be interested to know. |

The picture does not show anything alarming. I would say it is a mild form of acne...some black heads and a few small pimples, but a picture is not perfect for any diagnostics. I am NO dermatologist, I only have an medical degree but for a different specialty. Please don't take my guess into real consideration. I don't know how easy it is for you to see a dermatologist. I wouldn't worry, but I wonder why the GP said it's not acne. Did he say anything else?
Yes, internet is not good for medical advices. |
